Iam still pondering to who to connect to either UBI or TV plus for the Balkans Channels for my parents.
Reading all these forums and because i have no satellite equipment I cannot check the quality of the video between the two companies but last night for the first time I was able to view both UBI and TV Plus signal quality and I can tell you UBI leaves TV plus for dead.
Now what worries me and my Father is when both companies encrypt and say UBI loses its balkans channels whats happens if you sign up to TVplus and they tell you that they have fixed up the poor quality and they haven't, What rights have you got? what comebacks have you got if your are not happy with the quality of the pictures and you want to get out It, Is there anything in the contract that you can terminate the contract if the quality is not good, I bet not.
I for one want UBI as the Quality is Brilliant and for Pink Extra its 100% on my dads big TV.
How many others on this forum are thinking the same like me.
This is my first post I will also put it into the Other Pay TV forum.

[ 16. UBI Audio/Video signals are best I've ever seen for some time. (Better than TARBS) On the other hand, watching Balkan CHs on TV+, gives me a headache after 10 mins because blurry pics and sound delays (sometimes 5 secs or more !)
But, TV+ keeps telling us they'll fix the A/V problems later (after they encrypt channels) and that they (TV+) has exclusive rights for all Balkan CHs.
One thing is for sure. Do not trust any company whatever they say until you see a proof.
At the moment UBI is my choice because they are offering more CHs and brilliant Audio/Video.
I must repeat myself: "AT THE MOMENT..."

[ 17. Yes the above, I think TV Plus will have to do something about the quality and I cannot understand why its still like it is, People are talking and the word gets around it will give TV plus a kick in the butt before they even encrypt.
This problem must be fixed before encryption starts otherwise people will not bother connection until its proven that the quality is ok.

We have decide not to join tvplus because of the quality of the signal problem, they should have fixed it by now. We are going to sit on the fence and sit this one out to find out more and if UBI gets to keep them.
King

Pink is absolutely shocking,! and what makes it worse is most have digital set top boxes, some have HD TV with HD set top boxes and you watch that!!! and when you switch over to Pink and the rest on Pas 8 you need to give your eyes a rest after 10 minutes.
Will it be fixed before the Encryption date?.

I reckon, It must be fixed before the encryption to show everyone what quality of the TV+ channels the customer will be subscribing. For this matter, I would like to request some internal feedback to the forum from Ja & Satfreak. Please explain.....

I thought this forum/topic was about UBI's quality of channels. Let's focus on that issue guys.

Ooops Nick, I tought I replied on the "Other Pay TV and Services" forum. Sorry mate, this site belongs to UBI. And, for sure its way ahead of all the others when the quality of the channels compared.

Well I think this has to be a option on the contract,
If the Quality is no good you have a reason to exit
it, Contact the Dept of fair Trading for a ruling on this.

C'mon ew_289, its not a proper definition for the cancellation of the contract condition. Quality varies by the ppl view so the channels. Dept.of Fair Trading can not resolve any issue based on personal definitions. If by any, the channel would be good or bad and considered as technical problems. If the channel/signal lost then there is a legal base to cancell the contract if not covered by the contract. All I can say, the customer must be very carefull when signing the contract to any Pay-TV company even the little points/details can be very costly in time. Regards...

I agree fsking.. Thats why if you subscribe do so monthly so you can opt out if you are not happy and not locked into a long term contract.

Unfortunately the Govt hasn't set the minimum signal quality standard for satellite TV like they did for telephone services for instance. But I think at this stage the broadcasting rights are more important issue than the signal quality.
