Guys,
I have joined this forum as soon as TARBS went down. I was trying to get some hope/answers.
My hope was that another company would pick up the deceased TARBS.
Soon, UBI came along and my hopes went high; we will have, again, someone to bring some images from our home countries.
My backgroung is Brazilian/Portuguese. I know that the number of subscribers will never be as many as other (Ariabic/Greek/Italian/Turkish/etc.), but that is not the point.
My point is that UBI should have given an equal opportunity for all the backgrounds they had as when they were TARBS.
They should have brought some Arabic (not the 20 or so they currently have), some Turkish, some Brazilian/Portuguese,etc, almost simultaneously.
This way they would have kept more customers.
Sure, they could add more channels along the time, and those customers would be even happier.
The way they have done, makes me unhappy and frustrated.
I know someone would say: 'It's not easy to get some channels back(negotiations/etc) but things are not meant to be easy but fair.

I WANT TV GLOBO BACK ASAP.

[ 19. joe
UBI to succeed has to be careful with spiraling cost.

Because they have limited staff they are only doing a package at a time, one headache is better than 4.
TV Globo is up and waiting on Intelsat 701 and are in negotiations with UBI at the moment.
As you know UBI transponders are 98% full and UBI will need another Transponder soon to put all the new channels on eg. Greek and Spanish, but whats taking all their time up is the Balkans headache, that has to be sorted out first before the Greek and the Spanish channels will be considered.
Again and you have to agree with this one,,,,one headache one problem has to be solved first before creating another.

[ 19. Phil,
That's the point, Why do they keep fillig all the transponders with some 'dubious quality channels'
when you could add some quality ones ?
In my opinion, as I mentioned before, they should have added a smaller number of channels per ethnic group (quicker to add) and more diversity, and when possible adding more and more channels...
Again, it is not fair some have so many and others soo little.
I know it's life!
