nah, this kind of thing has happened before, where the stb just "forgets" and then you go to force remote update and everything's back. Now nothing, it just says loading NIT blah blah

Reuder,
Press and hold the reset for around 20-30 seconds. Then go in and add the transponder freq again and do a channel update/force reload.

reuder,
The yellow light means you have a transponder signal, which is good. Is the yellow light on now?

yeah i know what the yellow light means currently no yellow light, signal level 60, quality 0. It seems to have gone back to the old tarbs settings with 1 unauthorised and 2 ESPN, up to 9. Although, transponder settings don't revert back to Tarbs settings, they remain 12726

Have you got a PC close by? If so, connect a null modem cable to the com port and dump the screen in a file and send it to me. There must be something wrong with the transponder settings.
Ok try setting S/R 28067 and reload. Then try 12724H and try. I think the 24C64 has problems switching the tunner.

hey Vlad....I got the same problem as reuder, with the only difference that I can't get any frequency on pas8. Does that mean that there is a prob with my decoder and I need a new one, or can i update my reciever software (is that possible for the tarbs box?) - as was suggested to me.

Hello All

I can update you all what has been happening here..

Panamsat & Globecast have been working on testing of encryption on the Trasponder.

TV+ has been advising customers for the last 2 months in the VESTI and Serbian Voice to sign up by the 20th of Dec.. if you have the old tarbs box well...

Anyway some TV+ customers have complained so Panamsat will reverse the config changes overnight please check it tommrow and it will work..

In the meantime fill these forms and fax them to 1800 500 677

http://www.tvplus.tv/Serbian%20Application.pdf

Cheers

Satfreak,

A. The fact that's it's all fixed now doesn't mean the inconvenience to viewers never happened.
B. How can PANAMSAT & GLOBECAST be playing with TV+'s encryption without TV+ requesting it?
C. Where was the back out plan for the "if it doesn't work"? Maybe it wasn't even treated as a project?

Yes I know you may jump at the fact that everyone is in a test period and no one is guaranteeing the service anyway, but the providers are in a test period by us, the viewers. It would have given TV+ so many positive points if they had, as a courtesy, advised us that there will be testing for the next 24 hours. This way you set the expectation and keep the anxiety levels down. If you further, get the testing over and done with in less than the time specified, you would have over delivered and again scored some bonus points

Regards,
Vlad...

Vlad

Thanks for the constructive feedback,,

A) TV+ are aware it was an issue for users
B) TV+ were advised by PANSAMSAT and Globecast that the work were low risk and non impact..
C) Back out plan (roll back was implimented) but we are dealing with NAPA Valley Calfornia, time difference obviously caused issues..

TV+ wernt aware of impact till all the "freebies" started calling in - those that are watching the signal and not paying for it...

Vlad again TV+ welcome the feeback

TV+ phone lines were not ringing hot by complaining customers but by customers signing up.. to watch the signal

Thanks

Satfriek,
Well all I can tell you that there in fact was an impact and that prospective customers, the ones you call "freebies", were impacted.
All I’m saying is there should have been a project plan in place, if for no other reason then to keep a close eye on things and one should never rely on the o so common frase “Trust me there will be no impact”!
It would have also been a good test for when TV+ actually does go live. Oh well…

You sound like real optimist, Vlad.
All we (prospective customers) can hope for is direct debit or CC charge...
