i just wanted to know if anyone out there knows if with the

FOXTEL offers access in accordance with its digital access regime that was accepted by the ACCC in November 2002.
* From Foxtel Website

does this open the door for ethnic channels to go onto the foxtel platform e,gs TVCHIle offering via foxtel its channel at $12.95 per month ect///

Thus they won;t have the problems like with UBI ect.. and they can advertice thenselves???

Under the FOXTEL Digital Access Agreement, third parties pay for their use of FOXTEL’s digital infrastructure, including FOXTEL set-top-boxes. Access users are responsible for the content and marketing of their channels and the management and billing of their own subscriber bases.
*http://www.foxtel.com.au/209_3248.htm

i think they ask for to much $$$$ for access to there cable network hence the lack of interest thats why no one has taken up the offer

and also not all areas have access to the cable network be foxtel or optus its mainly only in capital cities most of the time

yes i guess its just interesting because if it doesn;t cost too much ( one thing is Aus Dollars and another US or EUROS) then balkan, Spanish, Turkish channels ect... can go on their own and sell their channels direct. People don;t need to purchase satellites, People get foxtel basic too ($48 per month) plus more channels can be included, also its not just the channel direct but companies E.g

if UBI wants to they buy space on Foxtel Digital sell there packages as an add on service and save on purchases of set top boxes, satellites installations ect... E.g Direct Tv Para todos or Dish Networks in the USA.

also this financial year saw an outlay of over $600Mil for the digital service which reflects on the companies poor performance , real profits will not be seen for sometime and they would be lucky to brake even !!!

You don't get it Murdoch could run Foxtel for 10 years without making a proffit. 600 million is pocket change. He is just laying the groundwork.

Watch him roll over and play nearly dead..then once the Aus Govt have changed things in his favour he will start making a proffit within a year or 2.
