ex Tarbs box will not show the quality of the frequans. So you need to find only signal and disconnect the box from LNB and the power. and re connect again after finding the frequansy.

Uruguay you'll be better off if you buy another dish for Select tv only....

if you buy a moteck then you'll be able to move your dish from B3 to PAS8, BUT you wont be able to see UBI channels because your MDS box is not compatible with the moteck....assuming your MDS box is connected to your FTA/ Irdeto capable box (Humax, the box moving the moteck) to the MDS box (via a LNB OUT)....

I have tried this myself and doesn't seem to work.....

....but whatabout if we can use a dual LNB????.....in such a way that if we want to move the dish from B3 to PAS8, we do so using a Humax, then swith it off, and then power on the MDS box and get the UBI signal directly from the LNB....is this possible????

[ 10. From SELECTV: We have now finalised our Set Top Box supply strategy.

In approximately 3 months, Selectv will be offering its own Set Top Box for our subscription services. For consumers who wish to receive the free TV Chile service immediately, Selectv has arranged for an Opentel (Irdeto) set top box to be available through Kristal Electronics ( www.kristal.com.au) at a special discounted price for our customers.

This Opentel (Irdeto) set top box will continue to work after Selectv encrypts its service in three months time. At that time, you will need to take out a subscription and we will send you smart card to insert into your Opentel (Irdeto) set top box. This will allow you to continue to receive the Spanish (and English) subscription service.

The Opentel set top box is supported and warrantied by Kristal Electronics. Selectv will ensure that our future Spanish and English Language services will remain compatible with this set top box.

The Opentel (Irdeto) set top box costs $199 including GST and freight to anywhere in Australia.

I have a question,SELECTV is asking the Chilean Community to do this,

In approximately 3 months, Selectv will be offering its own Set Top Box for our subscription services. For consumers who wish to receive the free TV Chile service immediately, Selectv has arranged for an Opentel (Irdeto) set top box to be available through Kristal Electronics ( www.kristal.com.au) at a special discounted price for our customers.

This Opentel (Irdeto) set top box will continue to work after Selectv encrypts its service in three months time. Selectv will ensure that our future Spanish and English Language services will remain compatible with this set top box.

The Opentel (Irdeto) set top box costs $199 including GST and freight to anywhere in Australia. I just don't know what channels they are offering and how many spanish channel would it be,I smell a rat with this.

UBI had all the chilean Community believe that they have the right to broadcast TVCHILE that why most of chilean move the satellite the position. Don't you remenber. And now they don't want to turn on th IRD. That is bullshit.

I was under the impression that UBI had all the intentions of having TVC as part of its Latino package, but that TVC pulled the plug and decided to go with SelectTV.

Maybe Liski can tell us what really happened.

Now SelectTV say that they have the rights to broadcast TVC. But what if that ends up flat on its face? Will the chilean community then complain that they had to *again* move their dishes back to PAS8 and worse still buy another IRD.

Nothing is certain where startups and money are involved...

From what I understand TV Chile was going to be part of the UBI Spanish Package but TV Chile decided to go elsewhere.

Maybe TV Chile thinks that SelecTV is going to be able to provide a better Spanish package then UBI.

At the end of the day it's up to the customer to decide on who they wish to subscribe to.
