Some of our customers have tv plus and they are irate that tv plus is leaving its channels free to January 06, now I'm asking this question is this true?.<br />They apparently rang them when they got through and said they would be encrypting very shortly. Now, who do we believe? The reason why I am asking is they have friends and relations who are just about to join TV plus but they have held off as I can see their point. Why should you pay when you can get it for nothing? Considering they can buy a cheap satellite receiver from Scitec, that will do this system free or in the paid version. Why are they running it free for the moment? Does anyone know why? Because a lot of these things do not add up for the average family to understand.

I can't see it staying fta for more than another 2 weeks because it will ruin there business they have to encrypt or go under.

If it stays FTA till Jan 06 it will be a disaster for them as you can buy a cheap FTA box for under $200, thats 3X1/2 subscribtion of TV plus to January so why in the hell would you want to subscribe to TV plus now.<br />Its 3.5 months @ $65 to January now you can buy a good FTA box that does Irdeto 2 for that.

Why? Because it'll get people to re-point their dish from Optus B3 back to PAS8. It's a long-term game. Remember Phil you did the same in early UBI days, you encouraged people to move from PAS8 to Optus B3. Once on PAS8 it'll be very hard to get people to move again in any direction. Smart move.

This is a small forum and when you see new members joining and complaining about why they should not be paying tv plus for the three months its FTA, remember this its the way they are looking at it and Like I said before, heaps are buying those cheap irdeto2 boxes and are setting their dishs to pas 8 to watch it for free but when it gets encrypted do you think they all will subscribe to tv plus? NO I don't think so. Again existing customers are the ones pissed off, also before I stopped my email account last week I was getting emails from the public asking me is TV plus going to crash. I replied I DON'T KNOW, THIS FORUM HAS NO CONNECTIONS TO TV PLUS, ASK THEM THE REASON WHY ITS FTA. Remember I have installed a few for UBI and have moved dishes for TV plus but now I am getting phone calls saying why is it free to air for another 3 months, we should not have to pay whilst it fta, is this the way tv plus is treating us?. Our relatives are laughting at us because they will have it for free for a while and we have to keep paying for it.
