Is this an artificial tube on the surface of mars?<br /><br />[]http://www.metawake.info/images/mars_tube.jpg[/]<br /><br />It looks like a huge transparent tube with opaque supports in the shape of ribs. It also looks like it is casting an accurate shadow for its shape and transparency, and is reflecting an accurate highlight in the bulging region.

Surely one of the Daves, with their vast space knowledge, have some input on the question of the Mars tubes! <br /><br />Are they artefacts of an ancient civilization that is extinct, or possible still thriving, but underground? Are they the biological remains or tracks of giant Mars worms? Or what?

Its amazing and wonderous, but they are sculpted because of water and ice. There is long term evidence of water on Mars and the polar caps do have ICE.<br /><br />Its also speculated that under the surface where these canals may lead into could be vast quantaties of water.<br /><br />Also its possible that these two guys where up there going to town and created them

There is water and polar ice on earth, but we don't have huge transparent tunnels. Are you saying these tunnels are made of ice?<br /><br />Your second suggested possibility sounds more likely!
