My 350 chev has had standard ignition and distributor system. The centrifigal weights advance mechanism has become worn, and it is time to do something about it.
Should I have the existing distributor reconditioned, or purchase some after market option.
Suggestions will be appreciated. Also any advice on plug leads and coil sought.
Thank you.

I would buy an after market distributor say if they still make them Mallory!! You can do all your adjustments in them that you need.

if you want to replace the coil as well i would suggest a GM HEI distributer . it's electronic so has no points to keep adjusted and the coil is incorporated in the distributer cap
