Hi all. I have just purchased a HK Kingswood and at the time of purchase the guy told me that she hasnt been started in a while. So when i got her home i replaced the dizzy, coil, plugs, leads, points and ignition barrel. All of this hasnt helped the poor girl start. When i turn the car over i can get her to run as long as i hold the key fully on, however when i release the key she dies?? i know she is not a Monaro but any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy Cruising. Liam.

sounds like the ballast resister wire is either broken or not connected. these coils start on 12volts and run on 8 volts, so, when you start, 12v from the ignition switch goes to the coil after you let go of the ignition switch 8v through the resister goes to coil
hope that helps
Graham
