Last week on a very windy day I decided to get some cloud photos as there were so many intersting formations. In this photo only, amongst my other cloud photos, appears a dark, round object high up in the sky. What do you think?

It is definitely an unidentified flying object Alisa. It is so fascinating when you take photos and do not see anything at that time and then find these anomalies afterwards. It does look a bit 'saucerish' to me.

Thanks for your comments, Chris. bouncy

Strangely, and synchronistically, as we have come to expect yeah , I just went outside (it is late afternoon) and looked into the sky at the spot where I took the photo. Just then I saw a dot/sphere slowly moving away. It was gone within about 10 seconds. It may have been a balloon, I have no idea. It was just so strange that it happened just then. But hey, this kind of stuff is now becoming the norm for me. wink

What or Who do you suppose they are?

Nice captures Alisa.

I don't know much about ufos, but I hope that they are friendly.

Thanks, Dawn! grin So glad to see your little green face around here! bouncy And I have to say that I definitely think the objects captured are friendly. That is a piece of sky that gives me lots of great photos.

Thanks, Dawn. smile I'm still not sure, but, I'm hoping that the webmaster (all-knowing space enthusiast) will chime in with his comment on whether or not this is possible... Excuse me, Mr. Webmaster... bwave

I would have to say from a scientific point of view it looks to me like a high altitude weather balloon. These are very high in altitude.

ah... The "weather balloon".. The USAF famous line.. But I am afraid I have to back Dave up on this one. I have seen a lot of weather baloons out by CFB Trenton as a kid and at those heights and distance, it looks very familar.

Or you are the lucky one and took a picture of a daylight pass of the International Space Station (ISS). Which does happen if the angles between the sun, ISS and earth are just right.

Thanks for that, D.B. grin If it's not my preferred capture of an alien-type, then I hope I'm one of the lucky ones to have captured the ISS. coolpeace

Looking at the photo of the ISS, there is a great similary in shape, so you may have solved that one Alisa. The other could be a weather balloon, but we don't know for sure.

Hi Alisa wave
I saw this photo recently and it reminded me of the 'shape' you caught on photo last year. see what you think -

Thanks for posting this craft photo, Chris. highfive What kind of craft is it? shy

I'll repost the photo in question here for easier comparison:

[Linked Image]

I can see similarities between them. eyebrow I even still think it looks like a satellite because of the things sticking out of it somewhat like solar panels.
[Linked Image]

But then again, would a satellite show up that large? hmm In knowledge of earth crafts and satellites, I am sad to admit I am lacking. sadeyes

Personally, I like to think the capture is an alien craft. I saw nothing in the sky at the time and was aiming for a cloud photo. And since I captured the sphere in the same shot, I feel like the vision-portal was open for that moment in time (my vision wave theory eyebrows).

Local Equalization
[Linked Image]

And while I'm talking about it, I've always thought that a shape highlighted in the equalization (center of the photo above) looks like a "saucer craft". I've cropped and enlarged it below.

[Linked Image]

And take a look at the sky when equalization is applied. There are so many shapes. Is this what the sky is made of, or a hint at what else exists--just like detail of a reality not seen without the aid of a microscope?

(BTW, Local Equalization is an algorithm applied to a photo to enhance the differences in lights/darks. It is a technique sometimes used in forensic science to bring out minute detail that can't otherwise be seen in photos to help solve crimes). camera

Hi Alisa,

The plane in question is a USAF Stealth Fighter. I just thought the shape was similar to your photo capture and it had a also non-reflective covering - and your capture looked dark. It can also fly high.

I discovered in the same batch of photos as the one I have already posted of a spherical UFO, this one. As to whether this is the same one or not I cannot tell. [Linked Image]

[Linked Image]
It looks spherical, but this one appears to have a light on the front and maybe the hint of windows or something.

Ooooo, this one does look different. omgosh

Just today I had a tiny catnap and as I closed my eyes I pictured (for who knows what reason) one of your sphere photo clips. I looked at it in my mind's eye as a photo, but then the sphere darted closer (I guess) and became slightly larger and looked quite like this photo.

I'm just realizing how odd and synchronistic this experience is with then seeing this post. blink

So - My photos are folowing you into your sleep state now! sorry.

I am finding these spheres so frequently now in my sky photos. I just wondered if this particular one was the same one from the previous photo( as it was taken within a shortish time span)which had come a bit lower, so more detail could be seen. hmm
