Good evening guys, I just have a quick remark to make to the providers of UBI. What is UBI doing to stop the card charing phenomenon arounf Melbourne. Why should paid subs pay $60 a month when others are recieving the service for free. Why doesn't UBI reduce the subscription cost to paid subs as a reward for not going down the path of illegally recieving TV.

I highly doubt anyone is Card Sharing UBI as there using a version of Ir2 which is not able to be shared and even if they are there are countermeasures that can be taken to stop it wink

Also there is no 100% way Free to card share there is always someone paying to start off with

i guarantee you without any doubt that there are people in there 100's doing it, ive seen it with my own eyes. There are even satellite installers that install it for you (even guys recommended by the major sat tv providers). The question is, is it illegal ? its not illegal to transmit anything over the internet or is it.

If you're from Melbourne well what can I say the Place Melbourne is the Capital of piracy.
As for the new UBI card the V5 Episilon (how do you spell it) it can be cardshared but very, very few have the softcam as its not available to the public and never will be, if it gets out they will
update the algo in the card and the process starts all over again.
Just subscribe to UBI it will be cheaper in the long run as the sellers will get sick and tired of updating your (......) softcam thus it will only leave the super smarties that do it for fun and don't even bother to watch UBI but have it just to say I DID IT.
Talk about the card sharing and the Dreambox I wonder if anyone has tried the new Italian image "Colosseum" "Einstein". No softcams no nothing, not easy anymore, you have to use your brains now to use it.
Again just go and Subscribe to the legit UBI service and may all the sellers rot in hell.

Thats interesting jarmnet. I thought the softcam gets updated to the pirate reciever via the internet connection. Its frustrating when ur a paid sub and many others a recieving it for free.

Radio Man,

CS isn't free - they need to pay for the internet connection + the decoder ($400-600) + a monthly fee to the CS provider ($30-40) so in the end this equals to a normal UBI monthly fee.

People don't seem the understand that if money isn't coming to UBI there will be no new channels and maybe no UBI.

The only people who are making money in the end will the be CS providers.

So tell me who benefits from CS?

Everyone but UBI. Most people already have an internet connection, and you could pick up a decoder for less then $400.
I also don't think people are buying the argument about 'more channels'. Consumers know that companies don't really give a toss about the customer, aslong as the money is coming in, which it will, no matter if no new channels appear, UBI will be happy.

reuder,

Forget "new channels" how about paying for current channels, transponder fees, uplink fees, and on going costs? If no money comes into UBI how is UBI meant to continue or even grow?

But if you wish to make the backyard installer full of money then so be it.

I'm only joking Liski! But I honestly think this CS business isn't that big. Do you honestly see Mr and Mrs Oldperson, getting a broadband connection, and maintaining the system, especially with a CS system where things can go wrong more often then not?

u r absolutely right, its these installers that are becoming rich in this business. However is what there doing legal or illegal ? and doesn't UBI have any means to stop it. As well im sure that official UBI installers are providing these card sharing boxes. I think UBI should reduce there monthly sub fees to customers acquiring the service legally.

Radio Man,

What they are doing is illegal and will be stopped in their tracks by UBI and any government agency that is required.

Lowering the monthly at the moment isn't an option as it's required to keep UBI going and grow.

A dreambox can have a variety of softcams that can be FTP'd to the receiver. From day one to today there are over 160 different softcams available but most use the latest to get the greatest.
Again the dreambox is only for the smarties and some use it to pick up all the providers all at once like Foxtel,TV Plus,Select TV, and now UBI. Could you imagine a C/S setup with over 200 channels from the above. Again for companies like UBI and Select TV just go out and subscribe to them but for Foxtel that have screwed so many with there 24 month direct debit contracts well what can I say. And for TV Minus all I can says is give them a miss they still haven't fixed the quality of there pictures.

At the moment as the law stands, UBI and others can do shit. For some that don't know there is a court case that has been raging for now over two years and I don't even know if its been finalised, but it was the ??? Shop in Western Australia versus Foxtel, Mindport and the Federal Police. See this ??? Shop was running a massive card sharing network, rumours around say they had thousands on their servers. Now its pricks like these who have bought the heat to the average family man who might genuinely subscribe to Foxtel or UBI or whoever but at the same time share it with their families. I'll give you one example, I did know 5 families that shared Foxtel and because 4 were on the server, the guy that ran the server for his family members subscribed to the maximum package, thus they divided the subscription by 5 at the end of the day. So what does all the mean? Foxtel was still making money out of it.
Now the ones I despise are the scum that run the servers for a profit. These low lifes should be run out of business and by the sound of it, legislation changes next year will bring much needed changes to combat these types of people. For some that don't know, the asset confiscation act was bought in after Port Arthur, where they confiscated millions of dollars that Martin Bryant left behind once he was incarcerated. Now this opened Pandoras box because as you know today the state Governments have jumped on the bandwagon and are confiscating peoples assets for any reasons, just look at the drug pushers, all their houses and flashy cars are being confiscated when they are caught. You can't even chuck a burn out anymore because they will confiscate your car and sell it out from under you. This list goes on and on for the above and just to let you know, one of my family members works for Astra and you wouldn't guess whats brewing.... the confiscation of peoples assets including your house if you get caught running a card sharing server for profit or gain. Good!!! Its about time. I would love to see them get shot out of their houses, these greedy scum. Most of you don't know but some of these servers can run hundreds if not more, so if the average client pays $25.00 per month and he has 100 customers on his server, he is raking in $2,500.00 tax free dollars, so there is the reason that it must be stamped out and its the scum above that are going to f.u.c.k it for the enthusiast who does it just to do it or maybe do it for a few close family and friends to share the bill. Epilogue: You profiteerers, your days are numbered, start looking over your shoulders.
One Angry Jaremt.

jaremt,

Counter measures to stop CS in it's place are ready to be implemented when needed.

At the end of the day it will get harder and not worthwhile to CS.

One particular young chap at Uni that I used to know is brilliant with dreamboxes. The last I spoke to him he was telling me he replaced the Da Vinci image to the latest Einstein image and of course to the collection of softcams of his choice. He told me he is bored, he is yawning and has nothing to do, as the almight Foxtel NDS can be card shared and so can the latest Irdeto V5. Actually he can't wait until UBI start doing their algorithm changes because it will only take him one hour and he will be back on again and the way he feels, he would like to invite UBI just to prove that he is better than the rest of you. Do you think he watches UBI? No for christ sake he is an aussie, he just does it for the fun of it, the adrenalin rush, to say to his mates and to prove it that the almighty can be compromised in just 60 minutes or less. Pay tv companies should not have to worry about guys like him because he is better than their best and they're not involved in card sharing servers for profit and gain. Its all about the fun of being able to do it, its just another game of chess for them. But for Mindport, their reputation is on the line here and will they ever win? No!!

Notvyet, FOX is not on TVPlus. No wonder these people get fooled so easily. Do some research before you commit to anything.

you are the one that need to do some research on whats going on not me I said you can get fox and TV plus together and that you can with a dreambox because i have seen it with my own eyes, its very simple the fox channels have there own dish and connected to a fox server and the plus tv channels have there own dish via a switch and the dreambox connects to that different server the french XXX channel have there own dish to get what ever it needs to get the picture. The one setup i have seen has all fox + all Plus tv + all the French channels for the XXX that channel on the International Satellite and what I can tell you is you flick up his fox channels and after 60 or something you have the plus tv serb channels and after around channel 70 you have the french channels with the XXX adult channel in nothing less than one second of you changing channel so what i can see is very simple change channels one after another and it looks if all are the same. He also has mixed some of the channels from the other companies and it only take 1/2 a second and you have pictures.
This technology to smart for me.

All this stuff about cardsharing should be keeped private, most of us know the capabilities of the dreambox and I also have seen some incredible setups that get everything that can be seen in OZ. Your problem is you talk to much and you pm others and anoy them asking the above on this site and others. I also would like to connect to someones server but I will not PM and anoy people asking them DO YOU HAVE FOXTEL. l_sabre
