i'm interested to know why UBI continues to allow foul language on the Macedonian K15 channel.

its in the the regular K15 channel promotional section, which features about 5 or 6 very brief comedy sketches in macedonian, one of the latter skits where the guy has the binoculars/telescope and mutters the words (in a bad english dialect, fvck yer, fvck yer, son of a gun) which is meant to be funny but not really. hmmm

surely nobody has picked this up, or my ears deceive me?! and nobody has complained yet?

as a result my son and daughter now are banned from watching this channel as they have picked up the F* word from there! tsk tsk..

The K-15 produced comedy shows have always contained that kind of humor since the start which is going back over 10 years.

You might not find it funny but I know lots of Macedonians that pay big money to purchase their videos/DVDs and attend their live shows whenever they come to Australia.

There is a lot worse language on Australian and many other ethnic channels on UBI and other providers.

Yes, but we here have a classification system which legislates what's allowed at what time.

I thought this forum was a semi-formal UBI discussion area, if not the only dedicated UBI forum on the internet, where serious issues were to be raised -- not swept under the carpet.

Should I table a written complain to UBI headquarters referencing this thread in my report.

Yes, I do find K15 to be funny at times too, as I pay for this service and am familiar with the group.... BUT to hear the F*CK YOU F*CK YOU repeated every 15 minutes (or there-abouts!) 24 hours a day on that channel is just TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

Clean up this act or as another reader here suggested, slap on a classification rating on the channel. Does anyone know if the broadcasting authority may be interested in this as well?

The word f.uck is now used continually on our Free to air channels (7/9/10,SBS) If you would have watched the Dakar rally (2005)on SBS on Thursday at 8.30PM for over the last 6 weeks you would have noticed one Bike rider called "CHARLIE!" and others saying F.UCK Approx every 5 minutes and the rating was only "M". Get use to it because at school the kids are saying F.UCK every 30 seconds.
Now I wonder who you work for.

There's a good reason for that.

I subscribe to ethnic macedonian channels on UBI as an educational tool to keep my children up to date on their mother tongue, and if I wanted them to have gutter english swear words in commercials every 15 minutes 24 hrs a day i've got better ways to do that (and that doesn't cost me anything either).

I'm curious, this forum seems to be a place for some to stretch their own ego's and run their own personal agenda's, but I am assuming it being an unofficial (read: all care, no responsibility) ubi forum, have they paid their royalties to UBI to allow them to use the official UBI logo on the web? (and thus giving a false impression).

As has been recommended to me by Mr Liski (are you actually employed by UBI, and if so wouldn't you consider it a basic duty of care to actually give more than just lip service to ones request), yes I will be following this up in a written complain to the company that I pay my monthly subscription to. If it opens a can of worms, so be it...
