All the elements are great for taking nature spirit photography.

Water is no exception. It is full of life - literally!

When taking photos of water I have certain criteria I follow to try to ascertain what I am seeing:

Still or flowing?
What is being reflected
What is in the water
What in under the water
The memory of water.

The photos above were all taken of very slow moving water.

My favourite of the above photos is the first one of the half-face. It is so realistic (photographic) that I feel it must be a human spirit. ghost

Great capture of the face. It really looks like a person looking out at you. It puts me in mind of some of the old western days pictures. It really is a curiosity.

The second picture reminds me of "Dante's Inferno" for some reason. I guess because of the swirl of souls blending and lapping one into the other...

All of these are really interesting and some very wonderful art work of nature and spirits working together to paint the world with life.

blink Interesting that you should say the second one looks like Dante's Inferno, because I thought something similar when I first saw it. devil

Hello and good morning(it is where I am - and a very nice bright one) sunshine

Firstly to address Alisa's point regarding the first photo of the face.
I see a male face peering out at me. I often find full faces looking back at me from the water. It could well be a discarnate, as I feel they use the element of water for being seen as well as nature spirits.

Dawn, you are right, everything is woven together so beautifully and artistically in nature that it is a wonder to behold - and I never tire of looking at these images, as I wonder what I will be shown next. winking

Good Morning Chriss.
It's almost 2 hours past midnight here.

I'm trying to do a bit of laundry and catch up on my net nonsense.

How's your web site coming along? I look forward to seeing all your interesting and thought provoking pictures. bouncy

Haha Dawn, I would say that 2012 is probably a good estimation of when my site will be up and running!
Wow! 2am and doing laundry, you sound like superwoman. I just had my tea and toast for breakfast it is 9am here.

I can see where both yourself and Alisa see the fire element in the photo, I have a lot of those shots also.
