I'm curious,
If a person should happen to catch an image of a Ghost/discarnate in a picture in 'their home', should they be concerned?

Hi Dawn

Can the person be sure it is actually a ghost/discarnate they have captured on photo?

There appears to be lots of anomalies caught on photo which people put down to ghost and when I look at the photo and evidence, it is actually nature spirit in origin.

We do actually have nature spirits that live in the house with us, just doing their job.

If it is ghost/discarnate, being concerned, would depend on the feelings that arise from it's presence. If the feeling is one of negativity and fear and problems are arising, then there may be cause for concern.
If it is a once off, and there are no discernible effects in the house or to the occupants, I would think there is no need for concern.

Ghosts/discarnates appear to frequently 'pop in and pass through'
as it were.

I hope this reply has been some benefit to you.

Thanks so much. That's really helpful info.
I agree with your thoughts on this matter.
I thought I'd try to extend the subject a bit to maybe help someone on how to re-act if they think they may have caught a Ghost /discarnates in a picture.

I have another question...
What is the difference between a ghost and a discarnate?

Hi Dawn,

There appear to be so many interpretations as to what is and what is not a ghost/discarnate these days, one can get bogged down in lots of terminology.

Here are my interpretations:

A 'true' ghost ghostis the energy body(astral)of a person once alive but now deceased. For whatever reasons, the ghost appears to be tied into the physical dimension and has not moved fully into the spiritual dimension. A kind of 'neither here nor there situation'.
A ghost is also aware to some degree and can be interactive with the living. It can observe and be observed and sometimes be able to manipulate it's surroundings - as in making objects move, closing doors, etc.
Dying very suddenly or violently can result in disorientation, disbelief, anger, revenge. All these feelings may stop the spirit moving on into the spiritual dimension, and they may inadvertantly become a ghost.
Not all ghosts want to be noticed and seen, some just hide away and keep away from the living.
There are still 'soldier' ghosts haunting many a battlefield, and maybe not realising they are dead.

There is another kind of 'ghost' which is often termed anniversary ghost. This is the non-interactive type and not really a ghost, but an empty shell with no consciousness, but with a strong emotional charge to it. This type appears to be programmed to repeat certain actions at certain times. Eventually over time the energy shell will break up and disintegrate.

A discarnate was once a person who was alive at some time and now dead. Some people refer to them as just 'spirit'. The difference between a ghost and a discarnate for me is, that the discarnate is not tied into the physical realm and has moved into the spiritual dimension, but has the ability to move through the dimensions if need be.

I hope it's okay if I give my definitions of spirits, ghost, discarnates and such from my 'near' half century of life experience? We all live in different parts of the world and it might be interesting to know how others view the basics of the supernatural phenomenon.
The thing to remember is that 'EVERYONE OF US COULD BE RIGHT' because the supernatural is such a vast subject.
yeah

----

Ghost - in general, folks 'around here' refer to any unexplained apparition or occurrence as a ghost until they recognize it, name it or interact with it...Then it changes the status, in their thinking, from ghost to a spirit... Then they deal with it accordingly, if they feel it necessary...
Of course, most folks prefer to ignore the ghost hoping it goes away...

(residual hauntings and poltergeist are quite another matter)
I think residual hauntings are records of history preserved by mother nature herself maybe as a reminder of past events.
I think poltergeist are pure energy and are really iffy.
I do feel there should be caution in dealing with one because it could be the precursor to possession.

Spirits
- messenger, tormentor, reminder, equalizer or comforter. They could be angels, demons, loved ones or good/bad spirits, depending on their agenda.
They are usually sentient and have been known to communicate with humans.
Mostly they come quietly to comfort the pain through the loss of a very dear loved one.

discarnates - I'm not very well versed on discarnates. From what I gather, they are supposed spirits that have no body... some were human... some were angels... and some are the ones conjured by irresponsible dallyings from the practitioners of the dark arts.
These type beings worry me...

orbs - pick a theory and I'm there with ya in agreement. (I'd still love to know what a 'spirit larvae' would morph in too...)
I tried the 'tests' to capture orbs in a photograph and it was disappointing...none would show... I finally had to physically sprinkle dust within inches of my camera lens to get it to capture it. And folks, my camera is not a 'dime store' knock-off and yet it isn't 'professional grade' either, but it's a really good quality camera and can pick up a spider's eyes at ten feet away... Anyway, my only real success of 'test' was when I took a picture outside right after my husband had mowed the lawn.
And what did I learn from the test? I learned that dust is darn hard to capture and this theory of light refracting off Venus illuminating pollens and dust is a statement made by 'lazy minds' trying to express themselves!!! I'm jesting of course, but it does make me wonder...

Fae, elementals and wee beings - I know they exist and run their own agendas... That is all...

UFOs - I don't think to much about this subject. I've watched all the docu-shows on them, I've read about them in books and online, but I still never think much about them.
I know there are ufos because I've seen them... forgive me for sounding naive, but I truly believe that if ufos are a horrendous danger to us that our governments are doing their best to protect us...

I will say this... I agree with Father Malachi Martin(?) on that some of the abduction stories do sound like demon encounters... and he suggested prayer as protection against these intrusions... I agree with prayer as well, because I believe prayer protects us and helps us in many ways in life and the universe that we don't even realize.

Big Foot crypto critters (& UFO/aliens) - I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it were the Fae in some of the sightings/encounters. They love pranking humans and getting a good giggle out of boggling our minds... it's part of the fae job description of requirements...

Dawn-ee, I loved your post and am delighted to read your list of dawnitions! clap It can be somewhat daunting to organizing one's thoughts and beliefs and then lay them all out on the public table for everyone to see. magnify So I applaud you for the courage and for the insight and intriguing new viewpoint you have given to me and anyone else that takes it all in! clapping

Firstly, hoo hoo hoo... nearly half century, eh? thumbup

Secondly, let me get out my thinking cap and comment on your definitions. I'm so pleased we can disclaim that "everyone of us could be right", and that opinions are in evolution (amen). Okaaay then...

Ghosts: You know, I just realized I have never really thought of how I would define this. So I think you're saying it's a catch-all kinda phrase. I'm cool with that.

I've heard Residual Hauntings defined like yours. Sounds good. And I have also heard/read Poltergeists defined as you have said, and that it is related often to an adolescent's possibly psychic powers at a time of great upheaval in their maturing body.

Spirits I have always thought of as similar to your definition, I'd say. I am totally undecided on whether or not I believe in demons, but so many people insist they exist, so... hmm I have experienced entities in my mind's eye (some form of clairvoyance that is crystal clear) that demon-like, but I feel nothing but positive coming from them. However, I have also read accounts that I fully believe in which people experience temporary death or OBEs and go into the etheric level/layer of disquieted beings that torment them and could be termed demons... except that I believe all things are comprised of core Godness no matter their problems or presentation. The closest thing I have experienced to negative is spirit spiders and I believe I create them as representations of my fear. Okay, I'm droning on... tapedshut

Your dawnition of Discarnates is interesting! Sounds reasonable. yes

Wow, I really enjoyed reading about your orb experiment! coolpeace I always got more when I was excited about them and communicated to them. The other night I did capture a massive field of them when we were outside on the lawn walking toward the circus tent (yes, we went to the circus and it was fun)! I took several photos out on the huge grassy area still far from the tent, but I could feel the excitement in the air and when the flash went off, I saw millions of tiny particles lit up. Thirty seconds later in the same spot, none. It does come and go very swiftly and for some reason it does correlate to some visible tiny things in the air sometimes. But reading about your experiments was very informative for me. I know someone who on occasion captured orbs when doing the dust test, but how could I convince him that those few photos were real orbs that coincided with his tests? chuckle

I can't argue about your dawnition of faes, elementals and wee beings. noo

UFOs: I didn't think much about them either. I mean, I was interested in any and all things out of the ordinary, always have been. But I didn't know what to think. Then as I began pursuing spirit, reading books, etc., they "cropped" up. Then I started having some very curious dreams about UFOs that seemed extremely real. And over time, my consciousness began to slowly perceive the reality of "alien" entities and I began having nightly altered-state interactions with them. alien Very scary, but not necessarily negative.

Extra interesting reading your dawnition of Big Foot crypto critters! I like this point of view. I can believe that Fae play pranks like this. More for me though (my dawnition), I think that earth has a spirit that includes the whole of all the vegetation upon it. Then the subdivision of the earth spirit are devas over certain areas. This breaks down at some point into fairies, and under that are other wee beings, which are all manifestations of the earth spirit (my evolving theory).

I noticed in one of my bush walk photos that a rock and some plants were showing a face that mimicked my dog's face as he was standing right there. I began noticing that my dog was being mimicked in a few other photos of him as well. Maybe they are mimicking me, too, and I can't see it? I don't really consider it a prank or anything negative in this case, but is my only example thus far. To me it is trying to express, possibly communicate in this example.

Meanwhile, I think Bigfoot is real somehow (whether just close to this dimension, or even totally in this dimension). Not 100% sure. scratchchin

This has been great fun. I hope more people will share their evolving definitions and ideas. I find it very helpful! Thanks, Dawn. sunshine

Alisa,

I want to go to the circus too! I love the circus. I should think there would be massive energy arcing and sparking from the patrons and the animals. It's all so exciting and uplifting.

What you said about one photo having millions of lights and then the next photo there's none, it makes you wonder how the air could settle so successfully for it to be clear in the next photo. (unless it's really windy...)
This was one of my points when I was doing the orb test pictures, pretty much the pollen/dust ladened air from the freshly mowed lawn stayed heavy ladened until the dew settled... and yes there was a slight breeze that day.
Random, maybe 1 in a thousand of my pictures will show an orb... with or without flash... I do get a lot of sunspots though... I kind of like the sun spots they're really pretty and some are striped... lol

I love the bushwalk with your puppy-dog and the elementals forming reflections of him in the flora and fauna. I think they do that to play with the puppy and maybe to show him how handsome he is.

When I use the word 'prank' or 'pranking' in reference to the fae & elementals, I honestly don't mean it in a negative way. I mean it in a fun 'childish joking' way.

Thanks again, I really enjoy your comments and insights on my 'dawnitions'. I was kind of worried that maybe I shouldn't have posted them... but then I considered that we all come from such different backgrounds that it could be a positive thing to share.

Okay...... I'll stop rambling.....

Have a wonderful weekend!

I think it was a very positive thing to share, and again, I hope others will feel free to share their ideas (we can learn something from all points of view). It is not always easy to accept others' views, but it is a great exercise to learn to do so. Sharing and acceptance brings people together, heightens understanding, and decreases conflict. When you think about why people war with each other, it seems that at the heart of it is the inability to accept that everyone sees the world differently from each other.

Off soapbox chuckle

And I really enjoyed reading more about your orb experiment. I'd love to see some of your sunspots. I haven't captured too many of them, but I always think they are magical when I see them captured on video and they look like octagons (or hexagons) all lined up and multicoloured. How can such a thing be taken for granted and not admired? sunshine

Anyway, here is the circus photo with orbs. The one taken after does have a few orbs in it I noticed, but not nearly as many as this one.

After much consideration, I now wonder, Most of us believe that spirits can draw their power from us and eccentuate their 'life force' so-to-speak, so it's possible that along with natural elements in the air that you caught a picture of human energy arcing and sparking and ingniting/illuminating spirit orbs.

Your circus pictures should all look like that if it were just a matter of dust and pollen.

I hope you all had a wonderous time at the circus.

Once again, you have made me think from a new, intriguing angle--that human energy is illuminating the orbs. eyebrows Thanks! coolpeace

I only got a couple of photos during the circus (magicI wish for you to go to the circus, too! yes ), but in one there is an orb/energy on a little boy's head that is interesting. In the first photo there was no orb, but in the one taken about 15 seconds later there is.

First I'd like to say that is a very handsome young man in your picture. He's adorable.

I think that is one of the prettiest orbs I've ever seen. I've never seen one that glowed like a rainbow. One can almost discern a face in it's middle.

This is really a great orb capture.
To me, I would consider it to be a positive spirit orb.

It is good to know your theories too Dawn on the above subjects. sunshine

I don't think the 'definitive' has been carved in gold yet! so all thoughts are allowed. ja

As to scolding - I am not into that, but to discuss, I will do to the best of my ability.

It is natural that one's thoughts change as we go along and learn more things. There should always be room for re-thinking and re-evaluating everything in life. I believe that when you metaphorically 'decide to permanently park your car', in the realm of thoughts, that is when stagnation of the whole occurs.

Feel free to come up with your thoughts at any time - should you want to 'kick them around' on here! thumbup

Nice little orb Alisa.

The thing that struck me when I viewed the pre-orb photo, is the expression on the boy's face.

In the pre-orb photo, the boy appears to be interested in the proceedings with no problems.

The orb photo seems to show the boy looking unsettled and frowning.

What do you make of it questionmark

Thanks for your words of support and encouragement.

Hey good call on the orb and the little boy. I wonder what it could mean.

I think spirit photography is like dreams... It's really not easy to discern the meaning.
Do you feel the same way?

Indeed! content Both are so subjective and it can be difficult to know what meaning is there (though I personally trust meaning exists everywhere in all things). But sometimes I have a spirit photo that has obvious meaning for me, as well as dreams that leave no doubt. Examples... scratchchin

I had a dream not long ago that I saw an alien craft in the sky. Soon I noticed many different types and sizes of them everywhere. I am looking up at them all when they begin whooshing rather close to me. Before I know it, one is skimming the top of me and crashing in front of me, shortly followed by others that are crashing down around me. When I woke it took me a few minutes to reflect and realize that I had been focusing on UFOs a little bit obsessively and that I was "bringing them down upon me". So I ceased thinking about them, heeding the dream warning, and giving myself a bit of a break for a while. cool

As for spirit photos with real meaning, I like the couple of peach-faced littlies that showed up in the trees when I began asking for fairies to show up for my photos. (I didn't consider the different categories of wee beings, grouping them all as fairies). I like the two little ladies sitting in the bushes having a chat, too. They are pretty straight forward. As is smiley orb.

A cryptic photo, amongst many, that still has me wondering is the giant wolf head resting on my roof. Even more so, the big serpent in the tree showing off his fangs. But with so many spirit photos, I take a stab at a meaning and let it evolve as I do.

If there is any meaning to general spirit photography Dawn, then I think it would be just to be seen and recognised. Spirit is just everywhere to be seen, if one has the sight to see and register it.
I have looked at very old photographs and still see the same type of images we see today.
I really think spirit just wants to say "hey we are here, open your eyes and see us"! cheer

I do believe though at times, certain images, faces, messages, do appear just for the person who is present/taking the photograph. wave

Dreams are different as they are obviously personal to us and we experience them in a different state of consciousness than when we are awake and are taking photographs( at least I think I am awake!! hahaha)
