I was thinking (first time for everything) about the evolution theory, and when you come down to it, its mutation to adapt to needs to survive, yeah? Well, seeing as we're killing off so many creatures, wouldent it be possible, that at some point, they'll all evolve to a point that they can offectively attack back at us?

But, if we kill them all off, then they aren't around to evolve. However, perhaps if a few of the stronger ones survive, maybe the same as viruses behave, they will reproduce with the stronger tendencies and be harder to kill. Though viruses reproduce so quickly which makes that viable.

Strangely I was thinking of this yesterday (good old synchronicity), how no earthly animals have come close to successfully dominating humans (to my knowledge). I even thought...would it be possible if gorillas picked up guns and learned to shoot them that they would then have some sort of equal defense? But then, they wouldn't be able to build their own guns or produce ammo. So, yeah, it seems kinda futile for the animals, as far as I can tell, unless humans show compassion and management. Or unless aliens sort us out.

My take on this post is:

The Earth is a living, sentient being, who provides the right conditions for life for all of us that live on this planet.

We have used and abused our home and our mother(as it were)over the centuries, more so in the last one hundred years.

The majority are basically takers, parasites,polluters of the natural world.

The animals have suffered and still do at our hands. WE are supposed to be their caretakers, their examples. If you believe some metaphysical, philosophical thoughts that the next stage in the evolution for animals is to become as humans, then I see that we have not been mentoring our students very well at all, teaching them and treating them in exceedingly bad ways.

I don't think any gorilla is going to be picking up a machine gun in the near future.
Look into the eyes of your pet dog and see what it is giving out, I think you would see love there and devotion, no matter what you do to it.

2012 is not that far away, it is not too late also for people to wake up and look at how they are treating not just the animals and the Earth, but how they image and see each other.

I disagree with you chriss, we are not their caretakers, and need not give examples, and if any other living creature evolved to be like humans, i pity them on the highest level, for humans are a race that lack the sence to realise that a majority of them are stupid. or thats how i see it. All races have their smart ones I spose.

(IMO) I think the earth is a school. We didn't come here masters and we don't necessarily behave as such. I love animals immensely. And ditto for people. I think we are all cut out of the same cloth and apparently share an amazing percentage of the same DNA.

I have come to realize for myself through various rebellious stages in my life, that when I would reject my family, my origins, my hometown, my own species, I was in turn loathing and rejecting my own self. And if it is true that we get what we expect (and to me this is an utter truth), it serves us all to see ours strengths and the good things we do! I believe we receive what we focus on.

People have come a loooooong way, especially of late. A century ago, people were chained to walls, tortured and slaughtered for crimes of having their own belief, or being mentally handicapped, or just too different from the rest (and free-worlds were not exception). Women were not allowed to own property or to vote. And some human beings and races were entirely enslaved! The list truly goes on of where we have been and what we have overcome.

Yes, there are still dark areas in the world, and perhaps the fact that these dark areas are so easily illuminated today through mass media, video, and photography, and the fact that much of the world is becoming so much brighter thereby further contrasting the inequalities and shadows, might inadvertently lead us to think people are not becoming better. But we really and truly are. We have cured and learned to prevent and treat so many diseases that life expectancy is dramatically longer for most of us. Some of the richest humans are using their wealth to feed, vaccinate and educate the world (Orpah, Bill Gates, etc.) A woman may even become leader of a world-power nation!

So many people are vegetarians and vegans, refusing to harm even a hair on an animal's head. And so many put their lives on the line daily to save the oceans, trees and wildlife. Others dedicate their lives to helping those that are destitute, in poor countries, or those that are very lost and sad.

This world is a truly great place and filled with magnificent beings. We have lots of things to work out, but there is every indication that this is what we have been doing, are doing and continue to do as we grow to be masters.

I also believe that a lot of people are misinformed and lack the awareness to investigate and check things for themselves. Does this equate to your idea of stupidity?
But, I do feel compassion for them, as I also incarnated as a human in this life, and so did you and like it or not we are all bound together as a group, either to succeed or fail.
The stronger ones in the team help the weaker ones - or else the team fails is my belief.

Yeah, I suppose so. though my idea of stupidity is things like thinking they can stop climate change, as if they control all the earths actions, and waring over gods that exist only in their eyes, and not the eyes of others.
