Very interesting indeed Alisa.
I did not know of these before.

When I view the plates, I do indeed see nature spirits abounding everywhere, there is a lot of layering in them.

Also certain images are not what they seem to be, which is typical nature spirit activity.

Okay, I've thought about this display of photographs...
They are really reminiscent of fae activity (and really reminiscent of the stylings of Froud)

But, compared to modern pictures of what I've seen of what I consider to be fae and wee folks, there seems a big difference that even the lens nor a 100 years can be blamed for.

I've never seen an authentic picture of an 'actual fae or wee folk' that looks like a cardboard cutout...
In the pictures that I've seen (that I consider authentic) the beings maybe overlayed, distorted, translucent, opaque or solid with one or more faces sharing the space, but they don't look like a paper cut out or a snippet from a movie.

I feel the 'Parting the Veil of Faeries' pictures are overdone... fae maybe the inspiration, but I doubt they were the real models... and if I am wrong, I will happily apologize for doubting his sincerity... but how would one know?, especially if these were the creation by a person that has since passed.

Which brings us to Cottingley Faeries... In my heart of hearts I think the 5th picture is authentic. It displays the familiar characteristics of modern pictures. Faces in the grass, where none need be... maybe the fae was mirroring what they see in the girls' faces, like the nature folks mirroring Alisa's puppy-dog.

I apologize if I offended anyone... these are just my thoughts.

A curious thing happened...
I decided to go see if this fellow had posted anymore fae photos.

I got to re-looking at the pictures he has posted and they don't look the same to me now.
The specific cardboard cutout picture that I referred to in my other post isn't there in his gallery...
So... I wonder why I thought that I saw it last May.

Gosh, my old brain interprets info so goofy sometimes (most of the time.)
duh

That is quite curious. content Thanks for posting this Dawn! elf2

I forgot to give my twocents on these photos, so I'm glad you brought the thread back to the top! I felt the beings in the photos were genuine. I was very amazed. The "feel" of the photos is real to me, the layering of images, the hidden images within, the monstrous look of some of them...it all jibes with me. I also am the opposite of skeptical and believe everything to be true until proven false because I believe the large majority of people are genuine (so it's at least playing the odds from my viewpoint). Putting a lot of time into something fake that is not at all lucrative is just not that motivating to most. Whereas knowing something amazing to be true and putting in heaps of time to try to share it and help others experience the miraculous, is very motivating IMO. jump

I wish all the fairy photos from everyone could be displayed in one place. I always wish that about all paranormal photos. The comparisons would be helpful.

As for seeing it differently now, do you think that it could be a change in your vision and interpretation? I ask this because as time goes on, I "see" more, understand more, and hence believe more. As it is with anything, science, art, etc., when you put time in studying it and working with it, you get better at it, more acquainted with it, develop a more discerning eye and a bigger data base of facts in your memory to draw upon and integrate.

I saw many smaller fairies in the Colmore baby photo. Apart from the large diaphanous fairy, there are other smaller fairies and beings in the bottom right hand corner that I have tinted to show what I see.

From the top right, there is a fairy with her hands on the shoulder of another female or fairy in front of her. In the center of the photo is an arm that is either human or like a bird leg (the nails are either dark or they are claws) reaching out from a form that is mostly transparent. She is reaching out to a male I have dressed in red with a hood (or maybe with a bird-like head--see original to decide) and carrying a staff. Then to the lower left are two little beings. One I see with wings which I have tinted pink, the other is looking up at the camera which is almost directly above him.

This photo, like the 5th Cottingley photo below, shows seemingly hidden, layered, diaphanous beings and lends great credibility to the photographs for me. It also ties the photos together by depicting the peculiar nature of viewing these entities and realms through this/our realm.

Apart from the large diaphanous fairy, the pic is really bursting to the seams with many little people. Overlay, after overlay of images and forms. I see this effect regularly in my own photos. What looks authentic to my eyes, is the way the 'little people'(from all directions) are looking upwards towards the camera. sunshine

I agree that this photo is just bursting. Every time I have a look at it again, I see more and more. There is an impression of many wings toward the bottom-center of the crop--feathered wings and other type of wings in translucent white. And in particular, it seems to me that there are small beings as if on a transparent film overlaying another film with larger beings overlaying another film with animal-like beings, etc. And yet, in some areas, it is as if some of the different sized beings are mixing together and/or made up of one another.infinity

I suppose that existence in other dimensions does not directly correlate to the laws of our dimension. It is not so easy to explain what is happening in this photo through our particular known rules of physics. It reminds me of the slippery feeling of trying to comprehend how everything exists all at once outside of the construct of "time".

I just think this is an amazing photo (amongst the other wonderful Colmore photos) and adds to the credibility of the collection.

I agree with everything you said... You're very perceptive...

Of course, I could've just been in a contrary mood that day... teehee

This guy's pictures really have captured the essence of the fae and the veil between of the layers of dimensions.
It's so interesting to see new images each time you look at the pictures. It's really amazing.

As much as I wish he was being honest, I have found he is not. Crowolf is one of my flickr friends too and I was exceedingly interested in his claims "Parting The Veil of Faery, The Colmore Fatagravures" and was frequently one of the first persons to comment on his images.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/crowolf/262445275/in/set-72157594253902274/

Take this above photo and invert it back to it's uninverted form (in photoshop), it's a photo of one of his kids, manipulated with photoshop which he has somewhere else in another one of his sets. We corresponded many timis before that, I called him on it, he never responded.

It really bummed me because he had such a fascinating and outstanding story, but I'm objective and I don't like being fooled. I don't know if it's the case with Crow, but there seems to be a lot of concerted effort to hide or distort the truth behind the reality of Nature Spirits.

Thanks for that added info, Twas Brillig. Very interesting. thinking The Colmores are amazing photos and some of them seem so much like my own authentic captures (only better) that I have a hard time dismissing them. I wonder if it is possible that some of them or even most are genuine, even if some are not. hmm Are you saying it is possible they are faked, not that you are quite sure?

Maybe it's something like the art of Brian Froud, where the fae pop in and out of his perception and he expresses them through his art.
But Crowolf doesn't realize it and just thinks he's the artist...

Hey, it could happen... Right? thinking

I am awed, as usual, at the way you think, Dawn, and the idea paths you illuminate for me! [Linked Image]

In numerous books I have read and hold dear as truth, spiritual adepts have said that fiction is truth and that huge epics that appeal to the masses are ways of revealing and integrating other related realities. Tolkien's work, Lucas's Star Wars, The Narnia Chronicles, etc., etc.

And on that note, I saw The Golden Compass on Sunday. And through several parts in the movie, much to my resistance, tears flowed freely down my face. I was so moved by some of the concepts in this story, especially by the idea of the animal spirits that walked beside the humans (they call these "your" daemon in the movie) because I have met my own real spiritual "daemon" and it is like a female white wolf.

I also experienced amazing sychronicities in seeing the movie. Just the night before I had dreamed I was traveling with my white dog and we were interacting just like the people and daemons in the movie. And I had spontaneously drawn an elf like entity in my visual journal the night before that looked very much like one of the characters in the movie. There were lots of other small things, but like most synchroncities, they were so personal that to explain them they seem strange, vague and grasping. But it was magical for me and I was sooo moved by that movie and all the synchronicities on Sunday.

[Linked Image]

So yes, I think it is an interesting thought that even if these Colmore photos presented by Crowolf are entirely fabricated, they could be a subconscious expression of reality. And well, IMO, everything is a perception of that which already exists. My favourite quote has always been "Originality is subconscious plagiarism". eyebrow And white some of the Colmore photos are easier for me to dismiss, a couple of them just have so many hidden images. But dunno

First off... Thanks for your kind comments, Alisa and
Thank so much, for correcting my spelling. I really appreciate it. shake I honestly don't know how I got his name so wrong. doh

I'm not very familiar with The Golden Compass, but I know it must be a dandy of a movie to touch you so deeply. I'll keep it mind and will watch it someday.

Your dream sounds wonderful. I can imagine the symbolism and meaning of having a faithful companion such as a lovely white dog. For some reason, I think that suits you... faithful and trusting.

Spirit animals are a curiosity to me, I know the Native Americans believed in them strongly. I can't imagine what my spirit animal would be... probably something aggravating with a short attention span like a Jack Russel Terrier or nervy like a Chihuahua .ahha
Just joking! whistling

I love your quote: "Originality is subconscious plagiarism"
It makes sense to me, because a lot of the things I write doesn't feel new but feels like something familiar that I wrote once upon a time...

Did that make sense? typing

If this is the same Crowolf I know of all he does is slap together crap and layer it to make other crap. www.crowolf.net

He doesn't typically do it very good either. Granted, it's easier to hack out some fae pics and layer it on top of a dull toned photo than what it is to create a character from scratch.

He never even credits his sources, either, and he gets paid for this junk, it's disgusting.
