What is it about the streak of lights that you are attracted to?
When I view this webcam shot, I am seeing astral people, who seem to crowd around these webcams, I presume to be seen.
The Bourbon street webcam in New Orleans is just the same, although much busier.

Thanks for your admiration of the Aus-City webcam, OMJ. The streaks of light are a cool! Passing cars. Or are they? And Chris...it is fascinating to me that you can see astrals vying to get into the shot. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.metawake.info/images/graemlins/toomany.gif) Wow Any good ghost cams you know of, Chris? Maybe I can squeeze one more smiley into this post! Okay, one more...

Ghost cams – hmm. A few years ago I would visit ghost cam sites to of course see what I could see. I saw quite a lot I have to say. I don’t go to those sites anymore , but, because of your request for ‘ghost cams’, I went for a peruse. Below is a link to many ghost cams – although I can not vouch for how good the majority are, as I have never visited them. http://wintersteel.homestead.com/ParanormalWebCams.htmlI will mention two cams I was a regular viewer of and describe some of my observations: Ordsall Hall, Gt.Manchester UK – A very haunted, active old Tudor house with lots of visiting astrals. Lots of children ghosts playing around there and they can be quite mischievious! The place also has many nature type spirits. The painting in the Great Hall of an Elizabethan lady(thought to be one who previously lived in the hall)is quite cool to watch at night. It is covered in glass and so reflects very well. Many different spirits use it to be seen and that just goes on and on. ( 2 cams to watch). This place was investigated by the Most Haunted team a few years ago. They regularly have overnight ghost vigils and you can watch what they do on the cams. http://www.salford.gov.uk/leisure/museums/ordsallhall/ghostcam.htmThe next is a disused hospital in the US which is being used as a research place(paranormal) and there are about 5-6 cams to look at. Another very haunted active place, all kinds of phenomena have been seen and reported. The cams do come over quite grainy, so if your astral sight is not that good, you may be disappointed. My tips are : look at the end of the corridors, the astrals crowd there. check out the walls, as they often will show themselves in these areas. This place is very spooky. http://www.researchwebcam.net/Hope this information has been of some help.

Great listings Chriss. Years ago I used to visit the webcams and look for ghost, but I had to stop as the graphics got heavier and heavier on the web sites but my 'dial up' is too slow to handle the speed needed. ~~~~~~~~~~ OMJ... I like the lights too. ~forgive my going off topic a second, but I'm curious... OMJ, I've been re-reading your post and unless I'm mistaken, you're an Afi fan! <3 Are you a 'blaqk audio' fan as well? <3 Cool! ~ ~~~~~~~~~~

Afi stands for 'a fire inside' their last album was 'Decemberunderground' Blaqk Audio is a side project of 2 of the Afi band members.
As far as biological monsters go... the only real ones that I ever heard of were human or microscopic.
As for the animal type monsters... well... If they break the 'imminent danger rule' then I think they become fair game for elimination.

I mean spiritual aswell. I think both types exist, you just have to look un-hard enough. And I never heard either of them, sorry. P.s. do you like my new signature?

Yes, I like your new signature: 'And as I entered the vally of gaia, i spoketh, If god is against thy ground, he is not of beauty..' And your previous one! So where does the new signature come from, or did you compose it? I know gaia is the earth spirit.

Here's another BRILLIANT photo I've got from your webcam. ![[Linked Image]](http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o40/JimTheLycan/Spirits/webcam_front.jpg) Now, I ask you some questions to try and prove my point of view. 1) Car headlights usually shine outwards then travelling in tube shapes. 2) They seem to be moving forwards. Lights down streak like that unless if the cars where reversing real quick, or driving forwards with real bright reverse lights. 3) I see no cars, and you can see around the lights without anything obstructing it. I'll admit I'm wrong if you can prove it, but otherwise, they're spirits.

I your theory and enthusiasm about the webcam lights! There is a technical explanation why the cars appear like this. I will have to get the Webmaster (aka The Professor) to provide an answer. My preference would be that they are spirits, though.

Perhaps light is a spirit element that we really have been able to conjure with any luck at all... Just a thought...

Yes OMJ, it appears everything turns into just tubes of light when it is observed moving quickly, it loses it's usual appearance. I am awaiting Webmaster's scientific explanation on this topic(as stated by alisa). If there was nothing in the beginning but spirit, then everything we know comes from spirit. The Sun then, would be our spiritual energy source.

I believe that the earth has a soul, named Gaia, and that everything strives to live. Even inanimate objects want to live, In my opinion, so I see cars not just as machines, but as living creatures. Take the mind away from someone, but keep their body alive, and they're just a living shell. A car is a living shell in my eyes, and we're the brain. Though I say many mechanical things have souls, as their will to live draws in lost spirits and such.

I will have to light a little under webmaster for his explanation. I enjoy your fascinating angle on "things" OMJ. It opens my mind wider! I especially like this living shell theory! And I also like your signature. You are a poet and you know it!

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I have been rather busy on lots of projects. Firstly keeping a bunch of unix servers up to date, yum updates and general house keeping. Then there was a big Plesk update from 8.1.1 to 8.2 (this drives the www / ftp / mail / dns servers. The network here is getting very complicated now. We have got two diverse WAN pipes to the internet. Both WANs I have got separated, with a dedicated pipe to the www / ftp / mail / dns servers, and a second dedicated pipe to the LAN here for the workstations and servers.
There is a route so the LAN workstations and servers can route directly to the www / ftp / mail / dns servers. Means we have 1GB connection here, that is nice!
Apart from that I have been working with the manufacturer of the webcams. These camera's are fully PTZ (Pan, Tilt and Zoom) meaning I can log in and steer the camera's anywhere.
There are some software bugs we are working on, mainly brightness control, once its done in a few weeks lovely pictures during the day.
I installed another camera at the rear today (outside) as well as went live in the C.A.R. (Central Apparatus Room) - for the non technical literate place where racks are with equipment, UPS (Uninteruptable Power Supplies, etc.
The last camera (has a image is temporarily unavailable) is a remote site, I hope to have this up live by Monday or Tuesday.
At night the 'streaks' you see are headlights on cars and trucks. As its dark the exposure time on the CCD is quite long, so you get a long light and blurred stretched image.
Anyway enjoy. I will probably have a web interface open for moderators during certain hours to have limited access selected camera's.

Ohhhkaaaay Let me try to put it in layman's terms (if I can). In the past, a photographer would have to set the shutter speed of a camera manually according to the level of light. These days, depending on the coding in the camera film or the sensors in camera, the ASA rating (shutter speed for a given light level) is dictated to the camera. Hence automatic. So the webcam knows, thanks to its coding, to slow down its shutter speed at night because of low-light. Therefore, the shutter opens for longer -- long enough to capture a car with headlights on coming into the frame and moving a car-length or two along before the shutter closes and saves the image. The reason that virtually only the light streaks are seen is probably due to the fact that the headlights are so bright that the contrast of the car itself, which is dark and blends more with the background, is not noted strongly. Webmaster says that the same type of light streaks would occur if you had a super slow shutter speed camera pointed to the night sky. The stars would leave long streaks (as the earth rotates and star positions move in an arc).

What would be the cause then, of similar photos taken in daytime?

Good point, Chris! Do you specifically mean car headlights, or orbs, such as some you have captured that show a trail, or is it something else you are referring to? I would have to say that capturing long thin lights and movement that streak, even in the daytime it is due to the same principle. In NO way does this mean the captures are not of spirit, such as the orbs that leave streaks and other such things. But it implies movement that is faster than the camera shutter. So while the "film" is exposed between the micro-moment of when the shutter opens and closes, the object starts at one point and moves, leaving a line of its movement. So, shutter Opens ----> ----> shutter Closes. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.metawake.info/images/graemlins/default/camera.gif) Photo shows a long yellow tube which is the blur of all the running orbies. The shutter opening and closing is slower at night, hence a longer period for an object to appear and move within the camera's view during exposure. But if a very fast moving object such as spirit is captured during the day, because it is sooo quick, it easily leaves a streak. Hope this makes sense. A case that comes to mind of major light movement within a tiny fraction of a second is the Dorothy Izzat case. She had numerous experiences with "something" that she interpreted as extraterrestrial. She would aim her Super 8 film video camera and get a single frame (1/18 of a second) containing lights such as this:
