ANZ Teleport in AUckland has signed with Intelsat to use Intelsat 8 for DTH service to NZ and the Pacific islands.
Looks like Fiji TV and PBS will have some competition!
Let the games begin!
also nice to see you back Phill

HUH where did I write anything anti ubi / pbs??
All I wrote was there is a new company signed to provide DTH on a beam that cover NZ and the Pacific Islands.
and like it or not that does mean competition for Fiji TV and PBS.

also nice to see you back Phill It's not that simple mate. You need a DTH license in Fiji to operate and I doubt that the Fiji Government will issue another one considering the market size.

Actually I don't even think this ANZ Teleport thing will get off the ground. Rumour is they are nearly out of $. As you know the "NZ" beam also covers the Islands. Nothing to stop people installing gear and getting the card via NZ IF it ever starts.
