We have had some really rainy weather in Sydney of late (on and off for about 5 weeks now), with a few recent booming thunderstorms. Today began warm and grew very humid and stifling until around 4 pm when the clouds started to gather for a quick blitzing hailstorm.












Though hailstorms are amazing and extraordinary, I made this post under Paranormal Experiences because of my recent introduction to the god of storm.

From my journal (Dec 6th): All through the night I saw eyes (in my mind), which I believe to be the many eyes of God. It stormed hard all night finally waking me because of the loud thunder booms. As I was startled awake I heard in my mind "I am I.O." and I "knew" this was the god of storm or thunder. I immediately thought of Xolotl (Aztec god of lightening and the underworld), whom I knew of. I now saw two huge round eyes as if looking right into my face, showing me emphasis of his bold and startling nature. And then I kept seeing eyes that were associated with him throughout my dozing the rest of the night as I listened to the rain and thunder. He was definitely trying to introduce himself. Then as I woke this morning I received the words, "This is my body it's made of many parts." And I clearly understood it to mean that God is the earth's spirit and storms are one of his identities and part of his overall body.

I refer to the storm god as "he", though researching the name I.O., or Io, I find that in Greek mythology, Io was a priestess of Hera who was seduced by Zeus, who changed her into a heifer to escape his wife Hera's detection. Io is also identified with the moon and the Egyptian goddess Isis.

So it is interesting that I thought of Io as a "he". It may be that there was more than one identity at work that night as well. I also know that the earth is thought of as the goddess by some and I know that there is the male and the female aspect (I have much to say about this all elsewhere ) , but I have found myself referring to god as "he".

As for the validity of a separate storm entity/identity in the conglomeration of the earth spirit/God, there are so many cultures that have singled out a god of storm: Thor, Zeus, Adad, Xolotl, (and 30+ more ).

Moments after the hailstorm finished its pummeling , the sun came back out.




Throughout the storm I saw many wolf faces all around in the patterns of the trees, etc. I see these faces frequently, but they are more poignant at times, and this was one of those times. And I was quite delighted to see several spirit friends in the photo above.

One is a spirit I see regularly when I look out at the distant trees (circled left). The other is the giant wolf (circled right).




To my eye the trees are full of collaged wolf faces. But here I have cropped the original.
