As darkness falls
on the 24th, look for the faint, 3rd-magnitude star Epsilon Geminorum
almost midway between Venus and Jupiter. Watch Venus rapidly close in on
this star during the next four days. Venus and the star will appear
closest (about 1/3 degree apart for central North America) on the 28th.

http://SkyandTelescope.com/observing/objects/planets/article_572_1.asp

------------------------------------------------------------------------

PENUMBRAL LUNAR ECLIPSE

On the 26th skywatchers in the Pacific Rim region can watch the Moon pass
through the outer fringe of Earth's shadow.
