Well low and behold I received a letter from Kevin Rudd about the issues with the Department, and guess what they did, buck pass it down to Mike Rann (SA Premier).....Unbelievable, as we already have approached Mr Rann, and do u think he buck passed it, yes, he states its not his problem.

Quoted this is not a federal issue, this is a state issue....

Who in hells issue is it, when no one in the government sector wants to look at it, is it too hard for them to admit they frked up big time in passing the laws for the department.

Not only that, because I mentioned about getting legal assistance in the letter, they replied, not only rich people can get legal representation, try legal aid....

Well I have and even though I am not on a substantial income, I am bringing up 4 1/2 Children now on my own thanks to DOCS, I am over the thresh hold for legal aid, and also over the thresh hold for government assistant, and cant afford a lawyer.... Where is the logics in that!!!!!!

Children at imminent risk

JUSTICE JAMES WOOD has recommended substantial changes to rules governing the way child abuse and children at risk of harm are reported. Change is needed but his recommendations must be implemented with care or they will merely replace one problem with another.

continued from the above......

Mandatory reporting of suspect cases will stay, as it should. But in the recent past, the Department of Community Services has been snowed by hundreds of thousands of non-urgent reports passed on routinely by front-line professionals such as police, teachers and doctors. Overwhelmed, it has at times been unable to identify and respond quickly to serious cases. Children have died as a result. Moreover, the workload has diverted resources so families at less risk of serious harm, but still needing help, were neglected. The key question for Justice Wood therefore was: how to filter the serious from the trivial.

The present arrangements place the onus for reporting on those in the front line, with penalties for remaining silent. They have reacted to that threat by over-reporting. As has been pointed out, sometimes children have been reported for infestations of head lice. Such things obviously do not constitute neglect.

Justice Wood's recommendations remove the filtering to new units in the bureaucracy; front-line professionals would report to DOCS only children at imminent risk of significant harm. Those two qualifiers give teachers, police, doctors and nurses necessary leeway to use the judgment they have been withholding. Other cases would go to filter units in each department; these would decide which should go to DOCS and which to new region-based aid services. Justice Wood suggests these be outsourced to non-government organisations. That is a way to increase the resources available for welfare tasks but it does not meet the most important need in his new structure - in the bureaucracy itself.

If this system is to work, the filtering units in the health, education and police departments, and others, must be given the money and the experts to do the job properly. Money obviously is tight. There will be pressure on departments to shift resources from elsewhere to this new function. That will probably mean it will be neglected. As for extra staff with expertise in this highly sensitive area, where they will be found is anyone's guess. DOCS already has trouble finding case officers.

Certainly, change must come; it is in the implementation, however, that it will live or die.

I told you they have invited that indoor sports of buck passing.

for 6 years thats what I got.
buck past and rejected and refused and form of understanding or any form of help.

I challenge anyone to come spend a day with me and watch how they just buck pass me and reject/refuse me.
Townsville city is against me. Dont matter where I go, or Phone as soon as they hear my name, Its game over. doors closes, fake smiles vanish and cold hearts blossom.
Nelson-Carr and peter lindsey are a good EG:
Law firms, legal aid and any help groups in this city will turn its back on me.
Life line even has refused to counsel me as to center care, mental health upon hearing my name, will hang up on me.
As soon as anybody is aware that It is me.
South Australia is no better. they removed me from a non abusive and stable home to the streets and then to a watch house to then live where ever i could and forced me to stay in SA, therefore i was paying 2 lots of rent and staving.
Even WJ: will tell you how much weight i lost.

Cos, of that, when I got home, My fish a dead, my Siamese cats are gone, one just found its way back. no gas. someone came and stole items.
and I am chocking on the memories of the empty dead house.
Picturing a family that I should of had. watching my sons grow.
These bastards robbed me of my life and now are robbing you WJ: all because you love me.
I am not worthy to have that love WJ: for you see my attitude, you feel the pains radiate from me, you have seen me in 2% cold, sweat like a pig.

I would stand a better chance in a concentration camp being a Jew.

Hi,

'thanks for posting that info' was regarding Angela and her phone number.

well the end of the year is nearly upon us viewers.
Have you received your first christmas cards yet? I got one in the mail yesterday from an old friend - talk about organised!
I will aim to get mine out this weekend.

Personally it was a long year for me.

I have decided to implement some changes into my 2009. It is bit of a gamble what I intend to do, considering the financial climate. i am debating whether to actually resign early next year and go in a completely different direction (study full time) with aim of changing the direction of my 'career'.
We'll see, it is in thought process at present. I will anguish over it,sleep on it and probably even toss a coin. The application for study is sitting beside me here for 1st semester 2009.

Re: child action group issues, Power4parents has canned their meeting tonight to register the name. various reasons. If you are really interested go over to the Power4parent.org and read what they say over there. I haven't been over there just yet. I always look on this forum first.

I am really tired tonight, so I won't hang around too long.
Being on these forums has really proven to me that I can exist on only 7 or 8 hours sleep per night. I used to always think I needed around 10 or more hours sleep per night. No wonder I had a lot of early morning waking at times! I certainly don't now on less sleep. No sooner do I hit the pillow but I am awake again around 6.30am and have to get up to face the next day.

No other news from me. Take care.

regards,

Nurse Ratched.

Hey viewers, don't just read this same topic all the time (it keeps getting around 2,000 views per day) scroll down on this same forum and look at what Docs sniper and WJ writes. It is very good reading.

Hi,

Another day and I am up early. I am dreading today due to work stuff.
Anyway I can start the count down. In another 10 hours I don't have to go back if I don't want to.
change is in the air for me in 2009.

You can't make yourself a martyr, it's not worth the grief. At the end of the day YOU come first before anything else, before your job, your kids, your partner, YOU. and if you are troubled and not travelling well then YOU ain't much good to anyone. So listen to your inner self and nurture yourself. YOU are not a door mat. YOU deserve better.

change is difficult. Sometimes we feel like a failure because we are not completely happy in our situation. but it is ok to give yourself a licence to change, turn around. I always think it is more of a crime if you don't try.

And with everything comes new challenges and new sets of rules. So how do you know when you are just being plain avoidant or if you need to take control and change your life? Good question, but don't make rash decisions, look at all options, wear it all for a few days, see how it sits with your gut feelings.

I am talking to myself in this post. But I am on the cusp of change. I am wondering if I should go head long into quitting my job and go into another area. I am weighing up the pros and cons. I feel very loyal to my clients, I like my current kind of job but I want a job where I can have a lunch break, not so busy all the time, not feel like my boss, who has long finished sucking my blood out of me, is now crunching my bones. But then I work with awesome people and the hours (except lack of lunch break) kink of fit my life style and the clients of course.
BUT I ask myself 'how long can you keep this up?'.
And if I change what problems am I going to encounter.
My biggest fear of change is worrying about finances. Bottom line. The mortgage. Security.
So I think the answer is to leave on a good note. Stop being the office stirrer so maybe I can crawl my way back there if my change plans don't work.
So it comes down to mortgage versus job.
The single mother's pension look appealing to me. I was making a joke in at work yesterday about becoming a prostitute. Someone said haven't you heard of paper bags. ha ha ha.
I ain't going to win lotto, so that is out.

Damn, why did docs have to screw us so that we are 20,000 behind in the mortgage.
This is just one part of the after math of their dealings in our lives.

Is it really beneficial to make this docs thing so legal orientated and punitive rather than assisting families and being client and family focussed/ goal orientated?
What did the lies and legal bulls.... achieve for anyone?
Maybe I miss something here, please help me to see the error of my ways.

Bottom line is don't ring docs for a whinge they will take you to the cleaners.

How dumb am I?

Good evening,

I have been thinking about what to write on here tonight.
I want to explore the issue of bullying. Many people on these (anti-docs) forums have expressed there concern that they have been bullied by CSO and other docs workers.

So what is bullying? You might have a better idea than me. You can do a google search and really read around this subject.
Bullying is coercion and manipulation. It is threatening towards the person on the receiving end. It can be verbal or physical.
It is often the abuse of power over someone who has a less social standing than you. Using one's power to stand over someone who is in the receipt of their care - if you were a nurse like me. Often bullies have little power in their own lives.

Then there is this concept called transference and counter transference. These are psych. terms. And it means stepping out of your professional role and can mean (in the case of counter transference - think accross the counter to the client) giving prefential treatment or less than your reasonable care to someone.
Transference to me is when a client seems to form some of attachment to me because I might remind them of someone in their past. The client can respond to me favourably because I remind them of their (for eg) kind old aunty or unfavourably to me (because I remind them subconsciously of someone they hated in their past).

So as a professional and when acting in a role when dealing with a broad range of people it is imperative to be insightful into one's behaviours to clients. So enter peer review, supervision and the practice of reflection on one's interventions with other human beings.

And as my psych. lecturer often said so it is now etched in my mind "and whose needs are we meeting?".

Then there is the awareness of modelling behaviours for junior and other staff. Inexperienced/ junior staff are impressionable. If the managers have poor insight into their own professional behaviours, negative counter transference, bullying tactics then the junior staff receive the message that this is the correct way in which to deal with issues and client.

Get where I am coming from?
I actually feel sorry for these inexperienced CSO types who throw their weight around.
They are setting themselves up for code of conduct issues.
They are making themselves liable through their unaccountability and poor standards of ethical practices.
It's not good enough to say 'oh this is the way I was taught".
It's not good enough to not question why you are instructed to do procedures that are contrary to what is written in the policy manual, legislation pertaining to your field of employment.

I have seen recently whereby students and new staff don't stand up for themselves. They are not assertive. This would be the same for other department whether it is nursing or child protection agencies.

It is not good enough for these supervisors and team leader types to be leading by POOR EXAMPLE.
It is not good enough for the government to allow this to happen anymore.

Stand up and be accountable, stand up for change.
Change can start from the bottom up to management.

There is no excuse anymore.

And viewers today I received a letter written by ( Mr David Smith, the Senior Policy Advisor) from MP Margaret Keech's office.

Apparently "the review will be finalised by the end of November 2008 and senior staff from the Mermaid Beach Child Safety Service Cnetre will contact you in order to arrange a meeting to discuss the outcomes of the review".

So viewers, what do you think?
I know what I think.

Oh, and by the way, after I did all my worry work my day wasn't so bad at all.
It is best to do your worry work and prepare for your worst so then anything that does happen doesn't seem so catostrophic. That's my theory anyway.
I always prepare myself for the worst. Some people say to me 'don't be so negative'. But it is my way of dealing with issues.

But just quietly nothing can prepare you for when docs try and destroy you and your child/ren.

On that note, I am wishing you another great weekend.
I have a list of chores written out for myself. Those Christmas cards are up there on the top.

kind regards,

Nurse Ratched.

well it can be belonging to a group too.
I think I will be on my own this Christmas or even possibly working.
My child has a turn with his father.

Actually to tell you the truth I am happy just to sit on the beach, creek somewhere and fish!

I bought little pressies for my (now ex) work colleauges as they are like family. Busy day, shop till you drop sort of stuff.
I am now banning myself from any shop for the next few weeks. (only a woman would understand me)
And I am about to type out a Christmas letter to go with the cards. Lots of dribble that flys off my finger tips hahah lucky (not) those who receive this in the mail from me.

ya, belonging to a group that means/meant something to me. My group = Family, No family, no group.

Let me share this so called happy, happy Xmas.

Last Xmas, as it is now, I did try, I rang the Salvos.
Told them how alone I am going to be.
They bent over backward to convince me they will help. told me they will come and pick me up on Xams day and to have a BBQ and a fun day down at the strand with others.
Xmas morning came, Xmas afternoon left and so be it a lonely night.
next morning at my door is a Xmas hamper from the salvos.
Frk all in it.

Yeah! join a group who dont give a rats arse.

Lest to one person I meant something, Till DOCS murdered that to.

This Xmas will be No different, Just me and the internet.
Oh! and me cat.

Ok Mr Sniper you are sounding cranky.
Something must have happened today that has put you in such a mood - I am guessing you are in a foul mood.

I shouldn't enter into it. But I will and here I go. So you can abuse me if you wish but I have to say it.....

Today you are sounding very self centred Mr Sniper.

It is better to give than to receive.
So putting aside what docs have done to you.

I ask you this question - what can you do to give?

e.g. join the group who are serving up lunch to the homeless.
e.g. go and support something instead of just expecting someone to GIVE to you.

and how do you do it? Ring the local volunteers organisation.

You are definitely excel at computer skills (that is plain to see) so go and offer those skills, that is something you can give.

Forget for once you have a chip on both shoulders.

It is that simple and will give you a wonderful feeling.
This is the beginning of being connected to others, to complete strangers.

Now I know you will have a come back for this comment. I imagine it will fire you up.

ya, its call setting in my man made prison:
and its not pity I want either.
and before you say, go out there.. Ha,! and wait for someone to say they going to kill me, or try to run me over. I got that status of dennis ferguson as far as some are concerned in this city.

I cannot mingle as a Normal human in this city, I am a well knowing person.
And as soon as strangers know of who i am, the shoulder treatment comes out.

I dont expert anything, other what is fair to have,,,I believe thats called freedom and justice.
and yes, I ring, then I stop ringing, cos, i know im wasting my time.

Forget??., I love to forget, but cant, hits me everyday, dont matter which way i turn.

So much of excelling in anything, dont get me nowhere.

lest here i get feed back, to tell me i am normal. normal pains, just a different Stab.

ya, your right, I always got a come back:)
if my sarcasm is a tad over board, So, be it.
this hate and angry is only generated by DOCS,
The partners never received any of that, they see it in me to.

teary teary

Dont let them win!!!!!

I should have added, what DS is saying is true, I have seen and witnessed quite a lot that has happened to him.

An example is a psychologist, Brian, that was so eager to help DS, got his hopes up high, only to let him down the next day with no explanation at all. This happens all the time, he is locked away in the home, never goes out, Its like a jail sentence, but this is worse sentence, than a murderer gets...

Where is the Justice.

Hi,

I am really tired tonight. I'll post something that I want to say tomorrow.
I thought about what I want to whilst mowing the lawn.

I did the Chrissy cards and mass produced a trashy letter to go with them. I got the Christmas shopping done, wrapped and put away. Cleaned the house, mowed the lawn, fixed the pool, and grocery shopped.
Ready for work tomorrow.
It is all done and I am now stuffed.

oh except the ironing, definitely dislike that one.

Hi,

I see the view reached over 100,000 in total.

I have been quiet. am just so tired. I have started a new job and so I have a bit of learning to do, not to mention change of routine. It is for this reason that I am quiet.
I will come back with a loud voice soon.

I don't think hating all social workers is fair. The problem in the department comes from the higher ups who leave them understaffed and underpaid. The normal worker who joins is met with fear from kids and hate from adults. After all that one can understand why they are more detatched. Now I am in no way saying this excuses the horrible things done by many CSO's but hating them on the basis of where they work is simply discrimination. Of course there are bad CSo's. There are bad policemen, bad taxi drivers and bad doctors. But we cannot blame the entire profession on the acts of some of their members. I'm not saying this to argue or be agressive I just believe that hating someone for where they work is wrong. If anything many CSO's would be happy to work towards better leaders.

so now we got to the 100,00 views i must ask this question - do we keep posting onto this actual topic or go to others under the department of child safety in this aus city forum?

All those viewers and most of them just silent and not posting any comments. Shame that. I would have liked to have heard where you all come from.

some of us are in this to the end. Weird way to be connected isn't it?

And Mr Sniper if it makes you realise you aren't alone - I just wish to inform you that my sister is organising family Xmas at her house this year and I am not invited.
(This is docs fall out stuff.) I really don't want much to do with my sister ever again, and I was never like this before I used to go to the ends of the earth for her.

I will either be serving up Christmas dinner to the homeless somewhere or sitting on the beach. It is child's turn to be with his father. Mind you, I welcome the chance to be alone in my life (no work, no family, no committments.)

And I am not bitter about what I just wrote above. True. I think one just has to put in into context in one's life. Accept it and move on. Be like the elephant and don't forget. I can forgive but it doesn't indicate I will put myself out there like a door mat to be walked over again.

Now are you all aware there is a new site?

if you google

you will see the new site. It popped up past weekend.
I think you know this already.

I am totally dreading Christmas... Put my tree up today but only did it for my little girls. Personally I'd much rather leave it in it's box in the shed.

But sometimes we have to put our own feelings aside and think of the children's feelings. I'd much rather go to sleep and wake up on New Year's Eve with a drink in my hand.

This will be my third Christmas without my girls. One might think I'd be used to it, but I'm not.

I absolutely hate it... Not to mention that my 8 year old turns 9 this month and I won't see her on her Birthday either.

wow, I have just been looking at some stuff that talks about the issue of domestic violence. The source recognises that DOCS (child protection services) can further victimise the mother over this. It is quite amazing, it echos what I have been saying about some of these nasty CSO types taking over from where the male leaves off.

I said some time ago that I was looking into D.V. more closely and I realise that there is a strong link between women feeling depressed and having anxiety and PTSD following these abusive relationships.

It is interesting how docs can get very focussed on the issue of the woman suffering from depression (or whatever mental health diagnosis) and avoid the whole issue of the domestic violence and woman getting counselling that would then in turn make the woman realise that those feelings are quite normal.

docs operate on the woman feeling like a 'freak', further isolation from family and friends, siding with the abusive male and removing the child from her care (stating she is not the protective parent) and placing the child with the father.

The stuff I am looking at talks about these offending men as not being suitable parents as they work on undermining the woman's capability to parent effectively and through this method of the way they function these men are not suitable parents.

An acaedemic in this area of interest of The protective needs of children affected by D.V. - Professor Cathy Humphreys goes on to mention that work should be done to strengthen the relationship between the woman and the child/ren, as this relationship is often attacked by the offending male.

Oh, and this woman was stating that it is NOT GOOD ENOUGH anymore to say we are operating in the interests of protecting children.

wow.

Well hello, I have just found literature that backs up my thoughts about the way in which docs operate.
It would seem I am not mad, nor alone in my train of thought on these issues.

What do you girls think of this stuff??

Justice4all I would like to hear from you.

and in my usual way - last say.

It is alarming how docs don't work on empowering women but will discriminate and torture through their legal processes (did I mention lies and false allegations here?).

If this stuff I am reading is results of research and if there is lots of mandatory reporting as a result of notifications arising from D.V incidents whereby Police are called out THEN why doesn't the law protect women?
Where is the evidence of best practice? Where are the laws changed to reflect this?

Why do docs still operate in a draconian way?

docs destroy society through their current accepted practices!!

Wow thisisgood, my sentiments exactly regarding DChs and DV...I felt I was still in a DV relationship except that the partner was now DChs and I'd separated from my partner before that and amicably mind you.

In our case I do believe that Dchs were trying to get a mind set on us that we had DV issues when we didn't. We used to years ago and we worked very hard on dealing with that without support or help from the dept or society in general succeeding in this and the Dept I think were trying to cover this with current claims of DV which of course they couldn't prove, not even with police reports, the Qld police wouldn't even enter into it for the Dept...I don't blame them either...the Dept made a mockery out of DV issues for their case which I found disgusting!

The best thing for any woman having either left DV or considering it is to get counseling for yourself, build your self-esteem and don't let anyone trample on your views, wishes, values and beliefs. Be kind to yourself and know that your feelings are normal for the situation you have either left behind or are still in.

In regards to children, they will react when you separate or if you don't so be gentle with them and just love them, hug them, kiss them, that's all children really want in turbulent times is to know they are still loved.

Living with DV is a nervous issue for children and will take time as it does for the victim to get over this which needs alot of support from those they are involved with and if they are involved with DChs you would think they also would be supportive and gentle with these parents in this dilemma...but from personal experience and with false claims of extenuating DV issues made against me and not the ex-partner or previous ex-partner to older child, I can declare the Dchs don't support parents but antagonise the situation more to get a case won.

Where did you get this info from Thisisgood...can I get in a book from the library or online...I've noted her name but a title would be great...

Thanks for this!

Hi,

Wowwa I just saw those pictures on that other site 'I hate government'. google - i hategovdept. com and that should get you just about there.
It is the second topic down and it is a picture of a police man man handling a little girl.

It is alarming.

Hello wake up public and start to realise what is going on!!!!

The media needs to get hold of this photo and print it - it would be of good shock value to their customers, I am sure.

Yes,

for the viewers there are some awesome posts on the altnews site at present.
NWO - I think it stands for new world order - is posting some good stuff, I like his mind and way of questioning and dissecting information.

The other site that has popped up that is well worth the find is "i hategovdept. com" google that without the spaces and it should lead you to it. It is exploding.

And of course remember our friends at power4parents.com.

Happy reading!!!
