A newborn's conversation with God






A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?' God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.'

The child inquired further, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.' God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy.'

Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?' God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.'

'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?' God said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.'

'Who will protect me?' God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.'

'But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.' God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.'

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.'

God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'



-There isn't even a word in the english language to describe the overwhelming emotion I felt after reading this poem. My mom sent it to me a couple of years ago.Her version was a tribute to both mothers & fathers & ended with "You will simply call them Mom and Dad." This is the only version I could find. How appropriate that my own "earth angel" sent to me this beautiful dipiction of the bond between parent & child!

When she sent it to me,I think her initial point was to remind me what a crucial role I play in the lives of my children. What it actually did was show me what a crucial role she played in mine. At that exact moment I realized what a beautiful angel SHE had been to ME...and how well she has taught me!

I thank God and the Universe for her, as she was and continues to be - my angel.

This reminds me of what I frequently tell my son when he doesn't want to do something I'm asking of him. I say, "I'm trying to help you become a human." And as funny as that sounds, there is an understanding between us that we are something else entirely in spirit and that we are here to learn about humanity and become human. So when I say that to him, I see a little light come on and he usually gets on with what I asked without much hassle.

I love it when children KNOW what they really are. Sometimes it is hard for us adults to think in the pure way that children under a certian age still do.I think it's because they have just recently left the other side to begin their journey here & they still carry the memories of "truth", & the true essence of what we ALL are.

Isn't it amazing how at such a young age,they seem to know more than we adults,when it comes to reason? And all we can do is try to remember what they already "know". I think at such young ages some of the things we adults ask of them seem redundant, because they already "see" the bigger picture & don't yet "think" the way we older humans do.

I wish for just one day, I cuold "remember" & "know" what my 6 yr.old son remembers & knows,about his soul & where he came from.To be able to put aside certian humanistic practices,& remember at all times that this existance here,is just temporary,& that we are all something bigger and better than our humanistic selves!


Sometimes in the midst of a child's "silly" little questions, or in thier attempt to buck the "system", & then ask for a good enough reason of why they should follow our requests, I realize the reason that they sometimes put up such a fight with us,is because they are still operating at such a pure souls consciousness,that our "human" demands & requests seem so out of touch to them,& we come off as the "silly" ones!

I find so much wisdom in the questions that little ones ask, or in the reasoning that they sometimes ask us to provide when teaching them why they should follow our "humanistic rules".I think I more times than not find myself on the same page as my 6 yr.old,asking "yeah what is the point of that?" Sometimes THEY are the better teachers aren't they? RETEACHING US WHAT WE HAVE SOMETIMES FORGOTTEN - HAVING BEEN HERE SO LONG!

I find myself sometimes thinking..."Ahh grasshopper, the student has surpassed the teacher!"

BTW Alisa, got your email,loved the pics!! Adorable.Blessed woman you are indeed!!! Beautiful rainbow - to me, a symbol that love lives there & eminates outward!!! Hmmm,seems that the pot of gold resides UNDER the rainbow now, doesn't it?!!!

Awww! And just in case it is physical, I'm keeping my eyes peeled!

I'm hip, my HIGHER SELF says "Nah, materialistic you don't need that." But my HUMAN SELF says,"SHOW ME DA MONEY $$$ !!!"

Eyes peeled, fingers crossed - if found, I do charge a 10% finders fee. But for you Ms. Alisa, I'll accept payment in pickles & knowledge!

Payment in pickles! And that would be convenient for me since I'm a little bit obsessed with making pickles right now.

Money, money, money... Such an interesting topic to explore. I experience some divergent ideas about money. I find that I cannot chase it. I don't desire to accumulate it, and yet, I do still want it because I think it would make my life easier.

My ultimate dream is a money-less society. When I would watch Star Trek (STNG) I'd feel so inspired that this is how it will be some day. Where people will do what they love to do and are good at and all will have excellent accommodation, care, food, etc., as a given.

I actually also contemplated this again the other day when I was watching "Bizarre Food, Delhi India". From my journal: "...I watched "Bizzare Foods Delhi". Being so tired, I started to doze just as Andrew Zimmern began talking about the Sikh Temple. My consciousness was altered and some part of me became very excited and started communicating to another part of me about the Sikh path and how important it is (and I don't remember ever learning about the Sikh, yet my mind knew how to spell it). I snapped to full attention - I had dozed for only a few seconds. I watched as Andrew partook of the meal making and the free feeding of thousands of people, which happens each day, seven days a week. I was deeply moved. I loved the concept and I wanted to be there. I realized the rewards that most any human would feel in serving in this way and how this could be an answer to a moneyless world. People would serve with joy because the rewards of the heart would be so great. And this would create a chance for everyone to always have a meal available."
