Hi Guys,
My 1974 HJ LS Coupe is about to enter the paint booth and I have still not decided on a colour!
As the car is not a matching number car I don't think I am doing it an injustice by painting it a colour other than the original.
It was originally Deville Blue and was then painted Mandarin Red?
She has been lowered and is sitting on a set of Cragars, 10's on the rear, 8's on the front.
The interior is black with a GTS dash and the car has been fitted with a GTS front clip at some time in the past.
Please feel free to throw some ideas out their!
As I am spending $10-14K on the paint job I want it too look right!
Should I stick with a HJ colour or something more modern?
I am leaning towards something that has not been seen on a HJ Coupe before!
Cheers, Allan

Allan,
Looks like the world is your oyster on colours!.
As you've already had a metallic & a solid colour, perhaps a special effects paint might be next (such as a pearl).
I've always personally felt that black is the most timeless colour, but - whilst it looks great done well, when clean on a very straight car; it has the same as downfalls (ie. shows up all dirt & dust, highlights any body imperfections).
Good Luck on the colour hunt!.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing myself.
In fact I went and spent $150 on the House of Kolor book and some of their colours are simply breath taking!
I am leaning towards painting the HJ the same colour as Holdens Effigy.
What do you think? Cheers, Allan
