Jaime asked about my channeling experiments so here goes. Be very careful with this, do not attempt this if you are worried about it. Always and I mean always use the technique afterwords to remove the spirit and protect yourself, as I believe you have opened yourself to be partly possessed, and spirits can host humans.

OK there are two methods, automatic writing and automatic speech. The build up to both is the same, don't take any stimulants for at least 4 hours before, and do it outdoors alone in a nice place, sit under a tree or someplace pleasant. Relax, really, relax. Close your eyes and visualize colors to bring yourself down to an Alpha state, I use the sequence of red first and I imagine a 5 pointed star shape, whatever is you favorite shape will work. Red is the hardest to see, once you see it change it orange, then to yellow, then to green, then to blue, then to a glowing purple/violet (indigo). Its hard to do but stick with it and once you see indigo, you are at Alpha. Open your eyes and look around, have a pen resting lightly on a notepad on your lap. Look at the natural things around you, appreciate them for there beauty, somehow connect your consciousness with this, and disconnect from your hand and pen. Then ask aloud for a spirit to enter your hand and write. It might take a while but the pen will start moving on its own, allow it to scribble, don't even look at it, for the first time it might be gibberish, it might take several attempts, however keep trying, but at all times concentrate on the nature scene. Eventually words will form and then sentences, there is often a weird grammer to it, like a backwards way of writing like the adjective will come after the noun such as "the horse white" not the "white horse" etc but you can make sense of it. This is the writing technique. The speech technique is the same build up, but just ask the spirit to take control of your voice. Disconnect from your speech and allow words to come out start mumbling and forget you are doing it. Sooner or later words come out. Often repetitive or in childish rhymes, but carry on and meaningful, stuff comes out. I have a spirit guide called Armandjah, who comes out this way. But only in one place, if I try elsewhere he doesn't come. Ask to meet your spirit guide and hope that he/she/it comes.

OK the important bit. Some spirits are not friendly and they lie, they might mean well, or seem to mean well, but it might be that they see you as something to host, and they can be deceitful. Afterwards you need to remove them. Ask the spirit to leave, your body. Then close your eyes and breathe out deeply and say aloud "I ask the Holy Spirit to enter my body," breathe in deeply, then say, "bringing me strength protection and guidance". If you are not a Christian or religious change the words Holy Spirit for Cosmic Forces. Do this 3 times, you should feel kundalini energy shooting up your spine. Then ask for all bad spirits to be removed from you body. I say in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit I cast all spirits out. If you are not religious you can ask in the name of Light and the Universe, whatever you hold dear. Then imagine a bright white light coming out of the ground and enveloping you, it is bright and pure and nothing can penetrate it. Bring it up to the top of your head and kind of tie it off above you. Wait a moment in the light, and then cross your arms egyptian sytle, placing your hands palm down on the biceps of the opposite arms. Then say aloud 3 times "Thank you, thank you, thank you". That's it. Do not try this if you have mental health issues, or are feeling sad or depressed, if you have any doubt about this, DO NOT do this. Good luck, and brightest blessings.

Wow starchie, what a great post! Thank you for being so discriptive & thorough. I found the information very helpful & have a bit to say on it.

First, your methods of visualization before contact are very similar to my meditation methods , & my method for re-aligning my chakras(as a matter of fact the color sequence is spot on w/the chakras). This method makes much sense to me, as I understand it to be a very important 'preamble' to any form of contacting spirit.

Second, thank you for recognizing & stating how important it is to close that 'door', once the session is over. I made a similar statement on my post 'EVP's', about closing such doors after an EVP session. Also I find that if I ask source/God to only send positive energy/spirit my way during a session, my request is usually met. But your right, if one is not in the right 'mental' frame of mind they will end up attracting neg energy/spirit, in spite of asking for positive because you pretty much 'get' what you 'put out'. So if your depressed or mentally unstable it does infact attract similar entities/energies, that will feed off this neg energy. Very important tip, & very good of you to include it, thanx!

Next, the white light of the Holy Spirit. I also use this method both when I do an EVP session, & when I meditate. Oh & also when I prepare myself for an astral travel trip during sleep. No I'm not Christian, but I do still use the term "white light of the Holy Spirit" when I ask for protection on my journeys. Or sometimes I just refer to it as "white light of source/God". I feel so protected when I use this method, it really does offer a ton of security for me. I usually do this method before AND after any spirit communication to protect me & get rid of any risidual energy.

I like that you remembered to include the sentence structure in the automatic writting bit. I find it very similar to the form Edgar Casey's messages came through...the ajective coming after the noun. My mother tried to partake in automatic speech once about 20 yrs ago after finishing an Edgar Casey book on the subject. She said that after her visualization method, once she was in an Alpha state, she began to feel her lips perce up, like voice was getting ready to come through.She said it felt like her lips were being manipulated or pinched. This freaked her out even though it was normal & to be expected in this excercise(according to Edgar's book). To her she said it just felt to strange lending her body to spirit & not having 'control' over her own mouth so she broke the session because of unfimiliarity, & a bit of fear(personally I think her fear had more to do w/her 'control' issues, as she was a bit of a control freak at the time!-Very hard to lend your body to spirit, when you always feel the need to be in control.). I wonder if you also experience the lip percing thing, & if so , is it as scarey as she described or just a bit uncomfortable?

I wonder too if you tape your automatic speech sessions for analysis, or do you just simply remember the communication once your fully conscious?

I'm glad to hear that your spirit guide accompanies you on these journeys, I always ask for mine to be present, but I'm still not sure if he/she is there w/me, as I have only heard it once during a meditation & usually don't recieve a visual or energy stamp w/it.How cool that you recognize & communicate w/yours. Maybe he only shows up when your outside because he's more a 'nature' spirit guide for you. You might have a totally different guide for indoors that accompanies you, as I have found that we usually have more than one guide for the many different aspects of our physical lives. I don't know, that's just my opinion, but I could never say for sure. Do you feel/sense another type of guide when you do the exercise indoors?

I found myself visualizing a bit last night as I lay in bed using the colour method you described and star shapes. As I attempted to visualize them, the stars wanted to be upside-down. I can visualize things rather easily, I thought, but it helped me realize there is a lot of room for growth here.

I would be interested in knowing anything you received through the writing or speaking.

I also use automatic writing, but I do it through typing. Mine, too, can be grammatically strange and uses vocabulary I am sometimes totally unfamiliar with (lots of dictionary work and finding Latin derivatives). And also the writing uses some of the same phrases repeatedly. One particular phrase that is often repeated is "enumerated over many variables", and the word "Behold!". This actually tickles me because it is like a hallmark and I know that these specific entities are speaking. I often ask questions about what I should do if I feel in a dilemma. I am usually reassured that I am doing well, that I am loved, and that I "belong". I also am told to continue to work on my own following my own will. I have learned a lot from my automatic writing and received a lot of comfort.

I really enjoyed reading your post, and marvelled at the automatic speaking. I have not tried this formally, but at times I have spontaneously said things that I know are coming from elsewhere to tell me something. I'll suddenly say something like, for example, "You must continue to pursue this."

On another note though, several times I have become fully conscious in the midst of a conversation I am having with my guide whilst in an altered state, and the voice is coming from my throat. Not out of my mouth, but my own vocal cords are vibrating. During the conversations I am filled with utter awe at being in the presence of the guide knowing how amazing he/she is. So it was quite strange to realize the voice was coming from within me.

But admittedly, I have not had the experience of something completely taking me over. And with the typing I am still conscious, I just refrain from interruption of the word flow (the best I can). It makes me think of Jane Robert's experience where her mediumship continued to evolve and she was sometimes conscious and sometimes completely overtaken (but had someone there to take notes).

It doesn't matter which way the stars come out sometimes they are the same sometimes they are upside down, the reason I use stars is because they represent Phi, or the golden ratio. This is a potent symbol, look at the number of country flags or corporations or businesses which use a 5 pointed star, it is for me a symbol of creation, and more its the "makers mark. If you can get to indigo, you can fall asleep easily in your alpha state.

The speech thing for me is at the back of the throat, like a low growl. The diction is weird kind of old fashioned, but somehow English, but pronounced by a foreigner. I'm always conscious, I can switch back to my voice to ask questions, and as such I don't need to record it, I remember exactly what I've been told. However its very repetitive, and with terminology I don't understand. The word "bestow" is very common.

Wow! Thanks for all this info Starchie. I am more motivated to work on this colour/star thing if it can get me to a state that enables me to consciously enter the dream realm. Does it do this?

I also get the importance of the star symbol. I see it in my photos and dreams. I'm sure it has immense, multilayered significance and I also see it as a symbol of creation, "makers mark". Though I don't point it out, I often see stars in my photos (like stamps from the creator) and often they are in circles. I learned in my altered state that the star (pointed as it is) is the father's energy and a circle around it is the soothing mother energy. Then at some point I saw it progressed with rounded edges and an eye in the middle. I tried to reproduce what I saw, this is close:





I think it means finding the balance between the male and female energy opens your third eye.

What you said about the automatic speech sounded so "right". I feel I know just what you mean somehow. I also get repetition with my automatic writing/typing. And have also received "bestow" and words that sound like it. Some words I don't know like "emetrow". Wow. Here's one example which has the word "bestow" AND the beloved "enumerated over many variables". It shows how strange these messages can be, yet I always get lots of meaning from them...

There are a few little things that I’d like to ad to keep an eye on just to keep things on the safe side. One of them is to be aware of the fact that there can be an evil eye effect taking place. If you sense that the spirit is jealous of you that you may be becoming the recipient of bad JuJu. This can happen even if they don’t mean it as it can also happen in real life interactions. To ward this off you must spit 3 times and say “needle in your eye”. Spiting is something that is done to this day in some cultures..!! Here is an example…

The most commonly talked about ancient superstition is in the Greek Isles. The evil eye can strike at any given moment. More than likely, you’ve had it happen to you, but you’ve just never realised what did it.

Take a moment and think about it. Perhaps there was an occasion that you were dressed up and someone told you how nice you look. A few minutes later you spilled coffee down the front of you or split your pants. Or maybe someone told you how beautiful your new vase was and a while later it fell to the ground shattering in a thousand pieces. That’s the evil eye.

To ward it off, there are a few different things you can do. They sell ‘eyes’ here that are like charms, blue in colour with an eye painted on them to ‘reflect’ the evil and you wear them on a necklace or a bracelet. You can also purchase a blue bead to wear instead of an eye. Blue is the colour that wards off the evil of the eye, but it is also commonly thought that blue eyed people are exceptional givers of it. So beware when a blue eyed person pays you a compliment, according to the superstition, it could be disastrous.

Another way to ward off the evil eye is with garlic. There are rare instances when a single clove will grow into the shape of a small head of garlic. If you’re lucky enough to come across one, guard it well as it is the best thing to keep away the evil eye. You can carry it in your pocket, or as I do, keep it in a hanky in your bra. I know what you’re thinking, but believe me… as long as the skin is left on, it doesn’t smell at all.

If you can’t brave the garlic, there is an alternative. When you get a compliment remember to say ‘Skorda (garlic)’ under your breath and spit three times on your own person. If you know the individual that is complimenting you, tell them to spit on you too.
The Greek Orthodox Church also believes in the evil eye, and they refer to it as "Baskania".

Greeks spit for a number of superstitious reasons. The most common is to keep evil away from you. For example, if you hear of some one speaking of misfortune or bad news, and fear the possibility of the same thing happening to you, you would spit three times on your own person. Greeks say " Ftise Ston Korfo Sou" or loosely translated, spit on yourself/your cleavage. It wards off the evil from coming to you. Now I’m not talking about drawing from the depths of your throat… a simple little spray will do. Spit three times and remember …Ptew not Phtewwey.

Spitting is also commonly used to avoid misfortune, so you don’t give the ‘evil eye’ to yourself and jinx some endeavour. Take for example Greek fishermen. They will spit in their nets before lowering them into the sea so they ward off evil and get good days’ catch. Likewise, a student may feel that he wrote a wonderful report and spit on it before handing it in for grading. The spit will chase the bad spirits away and avoid the jinx..!!

I remember the scene from My Big Fat Greek Wedding, when the two main charecters were walking down the isle to be married, & all the aunts on the brides side started spitting on her! I knew it was out of superstition, but still I thought to myself "What in the world could be so bad, that it needs to be warded off w/spit?" And really, how bad could it be if the alternative is getting covered in the spit of your relatives? ... Evil eye vs spit ? I think I'd take the former over the latter every single time .....but then again I'm somewhat of a germaphobe!

Oh, looking up evil eye (as I was not sure what it looked like) I see it sort of resembles the eye in the star I drew. Though I did not perceive it as evil. But I don't really perceive evil anyway. Cranky, and antagonistic, yes, but nothing has ever hurt me. Everything seems to happen for a reason to help me learn and grow.

Nevertheless, an excuse to spit is almost as good as an excuse to burp.
