I live in Strathfield, some 10 or so Klms from the centre of Sydney in a straight line..

There is no bush and not many trees anywhere near here, so why do I hate Bushfires??

Because in the last lot the little bit of "bush" on the freeway, sorry TOLLWAY caught fire and burnt out the local power station, which in turn caused several power blackours and surges..

So ??

Well the power surges blew up my computers motherboard and hard drive !!!

$400.00 later and a lot of files lost I'm back..

At what really pisses me off is that I did not have a power surge trip switch or back up my files, so its my own fault !!

I hate Sydney Electricity workers...(I just added that for Phil !)

Oh, by the way.. Have a happy Christmas and a happy new year everyone..

With all the new Sat launches and Impact TV, (WOW WOW WEE), it's gonna be a good one..

cheers Frank

Frank
I totally agree the fires were probably started by someones Cigarette out the window whilst on the freeway
Living on acreage can be a pain in the arse when it comes to power surges or over voltage I have complained to the energex up here about overvoltage and spikes, I showed the gentleman with the suit My TV setup and he said OH OH OH!!
They think I must be stupid I used a Foxboro recording unit I borrowed and it records everything to the second.
I have a 11KV to 415V Tranny out the front It took a tap change to lower the voltage (stuff the people down the bottom they get around 238V still within the + or - allowed) this problem is caused because of the mains too small.
COMPLAIN,COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, this is what I now do
Phill
