Stick you scissors through you credit card ,I DONT OWN ONE NOR I WOULD EVER LOWER MYSELF TO HAVE ONE, FUCK THE BANKS!! for years they have been screwing the average family man with High interest rates now this is another way of extortion and Blackmail ,,,,,,,,,,YOU DONT NEED ONE, I AM ONE FOR TECHNOLOGY I HAVE MORE TECHNOLOGY THAN 10 average families combined and there is always ways around them ,Never enter a contract with ANY COMPANY saying "YOU CAN ONLY PAY BY CREDIT CARD OR DIRECT DEBIT" this is intimidation and Blackmail! It makes me ANGRY when I see families on a very small budget get given a series of credit cards to hang themselves on,,,,MY Motto is If you dont have the cash YOU DONT BUY IT!!!!!!!!.<br />They're a Cancer on society GET RID OF THEM BE STRONG... I agree Phil, I have NEVER owned a credit card. I did apply for one once (ANZ/TELSTRA) and they knocked me back despite how much I earned!!<br /><br />My bank even had the hide to charge me a $5.00 over the counter fee because I had to use the counter at a branch. I couldn't use my ATM card because the magnetic stripe had failed. (suprise suprise, they only seem to last about 9 - 12 months. I actually had one last TWO weeks!!)<br /><br />I had also ordered my replacement card that very moment. Sorry to be the one to stop the chain, but I am very happy with my American Express Platinum. They don't charge fees, you simply spend and pay it back at the end of the billing statement.<br /><br />No interest, cash advance, etc.<br /><br />I agree Credit Cards from banks are evil, the interest is foolish. Amex just charge the vendor slightly more. That is the way a credit card should be, user gets it all for free.<br /><br />I use it for paying and buying everything (all bills, etc), including my trips to Athens and my spending, I got enough Qantas points to go around the World First Class for free <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/default/smile.gif" />

Dave <br />Thats why I said that this did not apply for business people who correctly use the card (paying off before the month is up) but do you know according to the latest statistics, only 16% of the people regardless of what walk of life pay back before the end of the month. The banks prey on the weak. I knew this one would get your attention Dave, you're as tight with your money and as conscious as I am!!! I don't mind wasting money on my toys but its my money, not the banks... I cannot believe how people have rattled up anything between 5,000-10,000 dollars Christmas card debit and this is a flat out debt. Its not a hanky panky where you can collect plenty of frequent flyer points. In my eyes, credit cards are like alcohol addiction, cigarette addiction and gambling addictions, no good for me. Well well, here's a story..<br /><br />About 10 years ago, I went on my honeymoon to the US. I decided to get a credit card and avoid the cash carrying and exchange rate hassels.<br /><br />I got a Citibank card because I thought, big American company, no worries. Of coarse when I got there everyone was using Disney, toys'R'us and every other bullshit card known to man...<br /><br />I did meet a guy from Australia who had had some hassels with his St George credit card, HA !!<br /><br />Anyway I never looked back and I can't complain. Apart from the annual fee, I don't pay a red cent. Interest, what's that ??<br /><br />Like hell I'm gonna pay for my 55 days of "FREE" credit !!<br /><br />Needless to say the bank hates me..
