When I feel bored I like to read My hungry mind it wants to feed I guess I could just twiddle my thumbs Or perhaps start a poem game with some of my chums!
ESP told me that's what you would do, The "roses are red and violets are blue", But I don't care, as long as you'll try Even if your words make me cry!
Ahhh, the fun that you want is satellite TV chat That's where your mind and your heart's really at! You don't want rhyming games and all of that tat After all that's why you've taken the name TVSAT.
It seems there's a shortage of rhyming ability Among the folk that may use this facility. Or maybe they're shy, or just hiding away, Keeping their talents from light of the day.
Alisa, my friend, the gauntlet is thrown So rise to the challenge, type fingers to bone And see who will be, when all's said and done, The Queen of the Couplet. It's bound to be fun!
First I'll start with a bone I'd like to pick, Yes with you TVSAT don't worry I'll be quick. You made Alisa cry and that's not nice, Be good from now on don't make me tell you twice.
Now on to you Dragonwyst my dear, Your words are like music to my sweet ear. Your verses they flow with such magical ease, Leave your words on this thread as much as you please.
And last but not least I haven't forgotten, To leave out Alisa now that would be rotten. Her childlike games bring laughter for all, I love her to pieces the girl's a damn ball.
Now I must go farewell everyone, Dishes are calling chores to be done. When I turn on the faucet I start to cry, 'Cause when water hits them THEY MULTIPLY!
Sometimes poetry flows with ease As if adrift on gentle breeze The words appear and are so clear I let them flow with ne'er a fear
But sometimes my mental tongue's in knots The flowing stops with clogs and clots I worried this might be one of those times When I couldn't produce a string that rhymes
Oh, and I have been to Dragonwyst's site And read poems there with great delight With silver tongue her words are strung I love the ones done for the young
And Jimjam your poems tickled me pink Cute and clever, that's what I think I loved the last bit about chores to be done Like Dr. Suess, you made it almost sound fun!
My friends, my friends my glorious friends Your well chosen words amuse me to no end How I wish we all lived close enough to hang out Good friends, love and laughter that's what life's all about We'd giggle, we'd cook out a bonfire or two Then I'd hand you a beer and say "This Bud's for you!"
I so agree we would all get together And make a gorgeous flock of birds-of-a-feather Though I must admit my fortune is good That at least Dragonwyst's in my neck of wood
But I remain so thankful for my friends on-line Better friends in person I would never find Because I get to know you all soul-to-soul And for me there is no greater goal
I'd like to say more, but it's one of those days When my brain is experiencing patches of haze But pass me the beer maybe that will help It probably can't hurt...ha ha ha
I've spent four long years growing roots in this town and had nought but acquaintances - you'd think I'd be down. But the solitude time is for growing - it's good. And now friends are appearing as fast as they should. I treasure the friends I have all round the earth and delight in our sharing of wisdom and mirth.
Aarrggh - couldn't rhyme decently with world or globe!!thank heavens for earth!
Not quite in the same the vein, but a poem anyway....
