Last night I dreamed that I was in my kitchen (similar to how it is in waking life). I looked out the window up at the tall palms and I saw something floating there as if it was looking at the palm fronds. I immediately thought of an orb, but it was actually a wolfman! I was soooo excited. It was what the-dreaming-me had always wanted to experience and see! A flying wolfman. He looked very kind, too. But seemed to be in a state of concern, worry (my brain wants to say that he was in some form of shock).
I earnestly waved at him to come down and come inside. I was extremely happy and excited that I was having this opportunity. When he came inside I saw that he had longish brown hair. He reminded me a lot of Hugh Jackman (who plays Wolverine - no sync lost there). He was wearing interesting clothes. They seemed made of something heavy like a sort of velvet or corduroy, tailored small to fit him snugly. His accent was old English and I started to realize at some level that he was from an older time, a time when there was a war...(then my mind hit on it!) the American Revolutionary War.
He was very pleasant to be around and I was desperate to spend time with him and know him. I could intuit that he had left a wife and a couple of children at home. He seemed to be coherent yet in a daze.
Then there was a knock at the door. I answered it. It was a disgruntled neighbour who was complaining about something he wanted us to fix or do differently, but I knew he just wanted attention, and that if I handled it instead of leaving it to my husband, I could smooth things over. So I did, and I reluctantly left the wolfman and my husband to chat at the kitchen table.
I finally smoothed things over with the neighbour and returned home to find the wolfman and my husband playing board games, games like "Risk" and other military strategies. They were both interested in such things. I realized that I had wasted time dealing with the neighbour and the dream time was just about up. I had so wanted more time with the wolfman, but then the dream ended.
Anyway, this is all strange and good. As I woke I was still so excited about the whole thing. I began pondering and trying to put the pieces together. At the moment I am theorizing that this wolfman is the one I captured in 2006.
At the time when I captured him, I felt like he had been in a battle, largely because of the bandage around his head. And because it was merely a cloth tied, I thought, this was from some time in the past. I tried to think what this could mean, but...I didn't know.
Another strange thing is I have been seeing this wolf-man face reflected in the light of my bedroom door (where I capture orbs so often). The other night whilst I was in an altered state I saw a large spirit residing there and I knew it to be "the father" whereas "the mother" was in the opposite corner of the room. I know it all sounds strange, but this is my mental process and what I experience as a "medicine woman" (woman who is driven to communicate with spirit). At the same time, I saw that the swarm of orbs were always there because of the father spirit being in that location. They come from him or are because of him.
Now, I am thinking that this wolfman is one of the orbs, and as such, one of the personalities or lifetimes of this father energy that is currently residing in the doorway area. And that for me, the orbs I capture are possibly energies of pastlives (this is just one theory, so, I only mean it as a possibility). And perhaps then I am one of the lives of this father energy (and the mother). And I am working to integrate all the other lives within myself, draw us all together maybe. And now there is this wolfman (who may look like a wolf in spirit, but was probably human in form when "living").
To take it further, perhaps he was a soldier (who knows whether British or American) during the Revolutionary War. I would assume he either died during that war or was so affected by it that he still identifies heavily with it. Whatever the case, he is a really strong part of the spirit conglomerate that I am so anxious and excited to bring into the whole of us.
By going off to sooth the neighbour, I neglected my greatest desire, and that is a reminder to me to keep my eye on the ball and stay focused. Let the chips fall where they may, and don't get sidetracked trying to manage and control everything else. Stay focused. And do what I absolutely love, love, love to do.
You have the most interesting dreams and I enjoy your interpretations and thoughts of what the dreams and spirit could be and or mean.
I wonder if the image of the wolf that he portrays is more of a metaphor for his personality in life. The wolf is a very noble and protective creature and has many qualities that some humans exhibit as well.
I analyze my dreams like that, but never seem to be able to reach the inner depths that you do. I think you do have the gift of 'medicine woman' to be sure!
I appreciate your kindness and encouragement. It truly is a gift to receive feedback because it opens doors for me and completes certain circuits. Though I am speaking metaphorically, the circuits feel quite tangible to me and your feedback is amazing and so helpful. It feels similar to telling your worries to a person who cares and is listening, as opposed to someone who doesn't understand or is tuning it out, if you know what I mean. So thank you for the feedback, Dawn.
I think you are right about the wolf being a metaphor. And interestingly above I say how tangible metaphors can feel to me. I have seen wolf people in my mind's eye as clear as day and so I wonder if it depends on which dimension a spirit is in as to what they appear as. Maybe in this dimension, a wolf-person incarnates as a human. I really do not know, but I have wondered for a long time now. Maybe a spirit becomes a wolf through being human first.
I remembered something from the dream after I posted it. In the dream I wanted the wolfman to bite me. I have had numerous dreams of wolves and wolf people and sometimes in the dreams I know I need to be bitten in order to become one. But it is something that cannot be prematurely induced (as I've learned in a few dreams where I try to rush it - it has to unfold/occur naturally). Strange, I know. And whilst it does seem so obvious based on werewolf lore and movies, in my dreams the biting is a fact that exists separately from any thoughts or memories of mine. And it is my belief that fiction originates from an existing reality somewhere anyway. In other words, the concept of werewolves, I believe, exists outside of this reality as its own reality. Now why I am involved, I don't know other than it must be a path my higher-self has chosen. Or maybe I even originate from this type of creature. So many questions with so few concrete answers...I just have to flow and accept I can't know all the reasons.
As for the metaphor of a wolf being noble and protective, here's another dream I had about wolf people:

I woke this morning with a dream snippet regarding these beings that were extremely benevolent and kind, but they were defenders that used swords masterfully. It later brought to mind the idea of the Knights Templar (which I must research). The group of swordspeople began at first with "uncles", like a "lone wolf of Texas" (these are the words I received when altered and they made more sense then!). There were initially only a few of them. They were very kind and peaceful, but used their swords with great viciousness if necessary to defend whatever-it-was (don't know, is it the holy grail or what?). I saw these as the dog/wolf people. I saw a male and female.
After this dream I did a little research...

Note added later April 2008: Texas is from the Caddo Indian word, tejas, meaning friends/allies. Texas is the Lone Star state is this part of the message of "Lone Wolf"? The nickname, The Lone Star State, comes from the single star of the former Republic of Texas that symbolized the Texas's fight for independence. So perhaps these swordpeople were allies fighting for independence?
It is interesting that once again there is the theme of fighting for independence. Throughout my spiritual experience this has been a theme - this need to aggressively pursue freedom and independence.
When I first captured the photo of the bandaged wolf, I kept thinking of the Revolutionary War image of the three men walking playing drums and a flute, with the one having a head bandage (I don't know the name of this image, so if you know, tell me please). Anyway, it's just interesting that the wolfman in my latest dream was connected with a war for independence, and the other wolf-people dream seems also somehow connected to this. It certainly is strongly metaphorical.
You certainly are connected to the wolf and to the historical past here and in your home as well.
You have such interesting experiences and dreams. Reckon part of it may be meant for Independence of your spirit to grow past the confines of the proverbial 'box' we all was raised in? Maybe?
Unfortunately, I don't know the title of that image, but it's as familiar to me as our flag. I'll nose around and see if I can find out what it's title is.
