Solemn Rose Bud
In April 2007 the new rose buds were caught in a killing frost and it really reeked havoc on them. This particular bloom was quite swelled before the frost and it seemed it would go on to fully flower. I noticed in this picture that it's unfolding leaves favored a solemn face. Unfortunately it never fully bloomed. It didn't get much passed this blooming stage before it shriveled away.

The face was a treat for me to find. It fit so perfectly with the sadness of the killing frost. It really is interesting to me.
