Solemn Rose Bud
In April 2007 the new rose buds were caught in a killing frost and it really reeked havoc on them. This particular bloom was quite swelled before the frost and it seemed it would go on to fully flower. I noticed in this picture that it's unfolding leaves favored a solemn face. Unfortunately it never fully bloomed. It didn't get much passed this blooming stage before it shriveled away.

OMGosh! What an amazing and solemn (perfect description) rose photo. I am soooo pleased you shared this capture and the background behind it. I find it very validating of nature's spirit. Thank you!

You're welcome. I'm glad you like it.
The face was a treat for me to find. It fit so perfectly with the sadness of the killing frost. It really is interesting to me.
