To others out there, how do you rate customer service or the attitude of sales people in small privately run business>. Are they more arrogant than larger outlets or do you get treated with a smile?.
Peter

Well it depends where you go but most shops seem to be ok but sometimes someone can get up your nose.
I used to shop to get all my pool needs at the local pool shop at Albany Creek, not any more. Not long ago they changed hands and the new owner seems to be ok but one of their new workers leaves much to be desired.
I won't be shopping there anymore, nor will my brother who lives at Albany Creek.
I shopped there for 4 years before I decided to stop going there.
George

George
You wont believe this!
I also stopped shopping there 2 months ago, all because I wanted my own Chlorine drum filled and not one that they had from other custumers on the floor.
I explained that my drum is different because the BUTT PLUG is Drilled out and if they give me another drum I will have to remove the plug and also drill out the hole for my setup at home.
The gentleman replied "ALL DRUMS ARE THE SAME and they don't leak!!! yes that might be right but they dont have the Butt plug (bottom hole) drilled out and I want my own drum that I have taken care of for years not someone's drum that has been left in the sun or whatever abuse given to that drum.
I now get my Chlorine from "Steve Jones Hardware" up the road and I have noticed that he is starting to stock more on the pool accessories dept.
This is an option that all can use if your not happy, GO ELSEWHERE.
Phil

Jaremt
For the the smaller outlets I find them more arrogant, reason they can't be sacked because they're a family member or a close friend.
But in the long run they lose out because you go elsewere.
Steve

my opinion is the larger stores don't have to put up with any abusive employees. One too many complaints and they are sacked.

Today I visited Steve Jones hardware at Albany Creek to get chlorine and I'm told to replace my drum, reason because the bottom plug membrane was drilled out Hummmm, I had to buy a new drum but now that customers have to buy new drums because the old drums are not good enough. How about Steve Jones now supplying for a fair price the proper screwed taps or whatever they call them that can be put on your drums to control the flow of chlorine from your container to a smaller container which you dump in the pool.
Trying to remove the chlorine from any drum with the butt plug blocked is dangerous as air has to replace the chlorine in the drum and it splashes and can easily get into your eyes, but with the correct siamesed valve which allows air to enter whilst expelling the chlorine makes it safe

"Thats the reason why you drill the butt out for easy and safe use"
Phil

So what your saying Phil is they sell the drums but dont sell the correct valve to remove the chlorine safely. Its funny I bet they tell you the drum is unsafe to fill but they don't give a shit about the end user who has to use it to remove the chlorine.
Peter
