It's OK fellas...I'm Jewish and I'm still alive, aren't I? Besides, there could only be two reasons they would've picked a Pope from Germany:<br /><br />1- Either he experienced the Holocaust the same way JPII did.<br />2- Or he was a part of the Hitler Youth or something of the sort and had to suffer the humiliation of guilt afterwards.<br /><br />Either one would have worked for me, as a matter of fact when I heard the Pope was German I speculated it would be the second reason - apparently I'm right. Nothing to fear from him at all, really.

I think something happened, or maybe a string of events, before art school. I mean, he was in WWI, he was a failure in almost all aspects of life...you know, just an inexplicably insane person.<br /><br />However, the real blame lies in the German people.

In regards to Hitlers reasons for killing the jews, I believe it all started in WW1, near the end, when Germans signed the Armistace. Now what is not widely known is that all the big wigs in world war one did not sign it, rather the government at the time did. This basically set up Hitler and the Nazis hatred of the jews, because Hitler basically believed that Germany had been stabbed in the back by politicians, who were controlled by 'The Jews'. Then as the money was taken from Germany, a lot of the Jewish Men, being gifted with monetary skills, got a bit rich from all this. Then blah blah blah, Hitler got into power, which many say was because of his amazing ability of persuasion.<br /><br />Now I am not 100% sure on this.. I did a huge assignment/Exam on this last year I believe, and this aspect of the war was discussed a great deal.

your on the right track his basic argument to get germans on his side was that the treaty of the versais (something like that) was wrong because he belivied germany was not at falt in WW1 which they were as they invaded france. the treaty was that germany should repay france and britan for the cost of the war. when hitler said germany shouldn;t pay all germans who were dieing of hunger followed him and he took power after the President died (which he sent to kill) anyways the hate for the Jewish was latter on but that really wasn;t the reason why. in fact hitler was half jew as his grandfather was jewish, his girlfriend who also was his niece was jewish and his first boss was jewish. <br /><br />He blamed the Jewish for now winning WW1 thats why he hated them. its a good story his life more so that he would have been a great leader if only he didn;t have so much hate. i mean economics ect.. germans were well off with him but let hate come in the way also the fact he likes blondes with blue eyes as the ideal rase when he was short with black hair !!! and brown eyes funny ay!!! <br /><br />Pope Benedict was in the nazi youth which all youth from 5 to 16 had to do as part of the brain wash process of hitler. but he got out of it basiclly becasue we was young and they couldn;t brain wash him too much. <br /><br />i did Modern History for HSC and he was my chosen paper
