Small earthquake of magnitude 3.0 just reported 13 miles northwest of Central, Alaska, United States 3.0 quake 25 Jan 12:08 am (GMT -9) Just 9 minutes ago, a 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Central, Yukon-Koyukuk County, Alaska, USA. The tremor was recorded after midnight on Monday 25 January 2021 at 12:08 am local time, at a shallow depth of 6.9 miles below the surface. The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the first seismological agency to report it. A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.0 earthquake as well. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Central (pop. 96) located 13 miles from the epicenter.
