Moderate earthquake of magnitude 4.4 just reported 4 km northwest of Nuevo Dantas, Peru 4.4 quake 7 Mar 1:30 pm (GMT -5) An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 occurred only 11 minutes ago 4 km northwest of Nuevo Dantas, Peru, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The quake hit at an intermediate depth of 141 km beneath the epicenter near Nuevo Dantas, Puerto Inca, Region de Huanuco, Peru, around noon on Sunday 7 March 2021 at 1:30 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Nuevo Dantas (pop. 200) located 4 km from the epicenter.
