Small 3.1 quake hits near Chase, Matanuska-Susitna, Alaska, USA

The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 3.1 quake in the United States near Chase, Matanuska-Susitna, Alaska, only 7 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early afternoon on Sunday 28 March 2021 at 3:23 pm local time at a moderately shallow depth of 35 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.1 earthquake as well.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Chase (pop. 34, 29 miles away), and Susitna North (pop. 1,300, 45 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
