An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 occurred only 14 minutes ago 5 km northwest of Piura, Peru, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 20 km beneath the epicenter near Piura, Provincia de Piura, Peru, in the afternoon on Friday 7 May 2021 at 4:46 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
