An earthquake of magnitude 3.0 occurred only 13 minutes ago 31 miles northwest of Helena, Montana, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 6.2 miles beneath the epicenter near Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Montana, USA, in the evening on Tuesday 18 May 2021 at 9:02 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.0 as well.
