Just 12 minutes ago, a 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck near Ishqoshim, Ishkoshim, Gorno-Badakhshan, Tajikistan. The tremor was recorded early afternoon on Tuesday 1 June 2021 at 3:35 pm local time, at an intermediate to considerable depth of 243.6 km below the surface.
The event was filed by India's National Center for Seismology (NCS), the first seismological agency to report it.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Khandūd (pop. 5,500, 65 km away), Ishqoshim (pop. 26,000, 83 km away), and Ashkāsham (pop. 12,100, 87 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
