Moderate 4.2 quake hits near Fort McPherson, Inuvik Region, Northwest Territories, Canada 4.2 quake 11 Jun 12:05 am (GMT -7) The Department of Natural Resources Canada (NRCAN) reported a magnitude 4.2 quake in Canada near Fort McPherson, Inuvik Region, Northwest Territories, only 10 minutes ago. The earthquake hit after midnight on Friday 11 June 2021 at 12:05 am local time at a shallow depth of 6.2 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Fort McPherson (pop. 1,100) located 50 miles from the epicenter.
