Small tremor of magnitude 3.2 just reported 24 miles southeast of Pecos, Texas, United States

The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 3.2 quake in the United States near Pecos, Reeves County, Texas, only 20 minutes ago. The earthquake hit around noon on Monday 2 August 2021 at 1:10 pm local time at a very shallow depth of 0.6 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.4 earthquake.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Coyanosa (pop. 160) located 12 miles from the epicenter. In Pecos (pop. 9,500, 24 miles away), Fort Stockton (pop. 8,600, 28 miles away), Monahans (pop. 7,700, 36 miles away), and Kermit (pop. 6,400, 49 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
