Just 6 minutes ago, a 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck near El Centro, Imperial County, California, USA. The tremor was recorded in the evening on Wednesday 18 August 2021 at 9:29 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 1.7 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.2.
