Small 3.1 quake hits near Pāhala, Hawaii County, Hawaii, USA

Just 11 minutes ago, a 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck near Pāhala, Hawaii County, Hawaii, USA. The tremor was recorded early morning on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021, at 2:27 am local time, at a moderately shallow depth of 21 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.1 as well.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Pāhala (pop. 1,400, 1 mile away), Hawaiian Ocean View (pop. 4,400, 21 miles away), Volcano Village (pop. 2,600, 24 miles away), Mountain View (pop. 3,900, 35 miles away), Holualoa (pop. 8,500, 43 miles away), Hawaiian Paradise Park (pop. 11,400, 43 miles away), Hilo (pop. 43,300, 45 miles away), and Kailua Kona (pop. 12,000, 47 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
