The quake hit at an intermediate to considerable depth of 286.1 km beneath the epicenter near Sopur, Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, India, early morning on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021, at 5:36 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
