Magnitude 4.4 earthquake strikes near Gorontalo, Indonesia 4.4 quake 23 Nov 10:31 pm (GMT +8) Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported a magnitude 4.4 quake in Indonesia near Gorontalo, only 13 minutes ago. The earthquake hit late at night on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021, at 10:31 pm local time at an intermediate depth of 115 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.4 earthquake as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Gorontalo (pop. 144,200) located 76 km from the epicenter.
