An earthquake of magnitude 3.2 occurred only 8 minutes ago 40 miles southwest of Hilo, Hawaii, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 1.7 miles beneath the epicenter near Hilo, Hawaii County, Hawaii, USA, in the afternoon on Wednesday, December 1st, 2021, at 4:03 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.2 as well.
