Moderate tremor of magnitude 4.2 just reported 31 km east of Patras, Greece

An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred only 18 minutes ago 31 km east of Patras, Greece, the National Observatory of Athens (NOA) reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 12.2 km beneath the epicenter near Patras, Achaea, Grece-Occidentale, Greece, early morning on Wednesday, December 15th, 2021, at 2:48 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.3. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 4.3.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc.
In Aigio (pop. 20,400) located 1 km from the epicenter, Rododafni (pop. 2,600) 3 km away, and Témeni (pop. 1,100) 4 km away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Kamarai (pop. 1,200) located 9 km from the epicenter, Rio (pop. 4,700) 27 km away, Nafpaktos (pop. 13,400) 27 km away, Patras (pop. 168,000) 31 km away, and Ovria (pop. 5,800) 32 km away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Agrinio (pop. 46,900) located 72 km from the epicenter.
