The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 3.3 quake in the United States near Denali National Park, Denali, Alaska, only 8 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Friday, June 10th, 2022, at 9:16 am local time at a very shallow depth of 4.4 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 3.3 earthquake as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.3.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Denali National Park (pop. 220) located 15 miles from the epicenter. In Lake Minchumina (pop. 13, 42 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
