4.5 quake 3 Jul 10:51 pm (GMT +8)

An intermediate to deep magnitude 4.5 earthquake was reported late at night near Labuanbajo, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia.
According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), the quake hit on Sunday, July 3rd, 2022, at 10:51 pm local time at an intermediate to considerable depth of 180 km. The strength of the earthquake may have been tempered by its relative great depth below the surface, which makes it feel weaker in absolute terms. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 4.5 as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 4.5.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Komodo (pop. 2,000) located 43 km from the epicenter, and Labuanbajo (pop. 188,700) 47 km away. In Bima (pop. 67,000, 97 km away), and Ruteng (pop. 34,600, 108 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
