Moderate magnitude 4.4 earthquake 91 km southeast of Sendai, Japan 4.4 quake 20 Jul 5:22 am (GMT +9) The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 4.4 quake in Japan near Sendai, Sendai Shi, Honshu-miyagi-ken, only 14 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Wednesday, July 20th, 2022, at 5:22 am local time at an intermediate depth of 70 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 4.4 earthquake as well.
