Moderate magnitude 4.3 quake hits 94 km west of Nicoya, Costa Rica early evening

A shallow magnitude 4.3 earthquake was reported early evening near Nicoya, Provincia de Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the quake hit on Thursday, July 28th, 2022, at 7:14 pm local time at a shallow depth of 15 km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
