Just 28 minutes ago, a 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Ciudad de San Juan, Departamento de Capital, San Juan, Argentina. The tremor was recorded in the evening on Saturday, August 20th, 2022, at 9:43 pm local time, at an intermediate depth of 110.3 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.2 earthquake as well. A third agency, the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, reported the same quake at magnitude 4.2.
